I found this problem doing a fresh nstall of the last karmic version.

Its all like these bug https://launchpad.net/bugs/404264

but there it seems like is resolved, but i still have the issue.  I dont
see the eth0 interface, and i have the same -5 error in the messages
logs.

Not only those files... more... i remember like 10 or more...  and one in pam.
the likewise backup all the files with a lwidentity.orig  or something like that

i solve the problem, rescue mode and running

for a in $(find / -name *lwindentity*); do
ORIG=$(echo $a | awk -F".lwindentity" '{print $1}')
mv $a $ORIG
done

  Dont remeber very well the -F of awk, i dont remeber the exacts
format of the files **

I look on the ubuntu forums and i found that the problem is when you try
to add a share that use password.

Maybe the duplicate icon access in the desktop is because of this... not

[Bug 230508] [NEW] Adding a windows share, get error smb://

Every time I go to "Places: Connect to Server" and add a windows share, I 
complete all the things, (domain, user, share, etc) and when i click ok, i get 
a error that says "Cannot open smb://myserver:/myshare is not mounted"
Then a access appear in the desktop and in the Places tab.  And when i click 
the access in the desktop another one appear, with the same name. and open the 
folder, but the access get duplicate it.

So the 2 things are:

1) The smb://  error every time i connect a windows share
2) The duplicate access when i click for first time the access to the share in 
the desktop.

sorry for my english, ask for any more information.

I install likewise-open to try domain auth, (the system goes very bad)
and when uninstall, (apt-get remove likewise-open; apt-get autoremove).
I reboot, and i cant login. It says Module unknown or something like
this... i search on the web and i will try to fix it... but it this a
very bad mistake...  more if likewise if published like the solution for
bind the linux to an Active Directory.

Im using Hardy beta, upgrade it to now...  is T30 laptop, at first the
wireless card dont appear, then searching i commented it the aes thing
in modules.alias...  and now is detected.

Im trying to connect to a wireless with certificate, mschap v2, etc

After more testing... i say that the problem is in the networking init.d
script i got the ip after apply static ip, but when i restart
networking i lose ip, and dont get anything...

I try to configure ethernet network, with static ip, and dhcp, with the
network-manager and when I restart networking init.d script, doesn't
work...  dont give my ip in dhcp, and dont do anything in static ip. If
I configure with ifconfig and dhclient if works well so im not sure
if network-manager or networking init.d  script are not working...

Im using Hardy Beta, and when i hold backspace only char erase, I try it
in a laptop and in a desktop, this happens at the install, and when you
re using it.

In previous versions you can hold on, and all its been erase, you dont
need to press X times backspace to delete all...
