[Bug 1652505] [NEW] Cannot connect to pulseaudio
Public bug reported: What I expect to happen: audio working like in Ubuntu 14.04 What is happening: programs cannot connect to pulseaudio server, the server itself isn't crashing. For example, pavuctl hangs on "connecting to pulseaudio", and all media applications are doing the same. It sometimes happens that one application (which opened connection to PA earlier) is still playing but new ones can't connect. pulseaudio -k && pulseaudio fixes this issue temporarly, until the next time it happens. The problem occurs multiple times per session. This is happening on 2 systems, one is not my own - a clean xubuntu 16.04 install - and the other is my own, where I tried various tweaks to default.pa to fix the problem. None worked. This happens with a clean default.pa too. I also tried installing oem-audio-hda-daily-lts-xenial- dkms and that did not help either. The errors reported in pulseaudio stderr are as following: E: [alsa-sink-ALC892 Analog] alsa-sink.c: ALSA woke us up to write new data to the device, but there was actually nothing to write. E: [alsa-sink-ALC892 Analog] alsa-sink.c: Most likely this is a bug in the ALSA driver 'snd_hda_intel'. Please report this issue to the ALSA developers. E: [alsa-sink-ALC892 Analog] alsa-sink.c: We were woken up with POLLOUT set -- however a subsequent snd_pcm_avail() returned 0 or another value < min_avail. [Bug 590780] Re: Installing randomsound package causes Pulseaudio to stop functioning at reboot
Starting the randomsound service AFTER pulseaudio does the trick. I didn't try if just adjusting the init order is enough, but performing /etc/init.d/randomsound start in a desktop environment doesn't cause the audio to stop. Maybe just starting after the display manager would be enough. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/590780 Title: Installing randomsound package causes Pulseaudio to stop functioning at reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/randomsound/+bug/590780/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 492054] Re: No sound after randomsound is started
I don't think this is happening any more, there's a different problem instead: #590780 - but this one doesn't happen (to me) in 14.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492054 Title: No sound after randomsound is started To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/randomsound/+bug/492054/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 515041] Re: fusermount of fuse-utils 2.7.2-1ubuntu2.1 (hardy) fails to unmount sshfs

[Bug 785370] [NEW] nvidia-settings won't save configuration
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nvidia-settings I'm running nvidia-settings via sudo, so it has the permissions to save the file. When I click Save to X Configuration File, a popup saying Failed to parse existing X config file '/etc/X11/xorg.conf'! appears. At the same time, the following error appears in console: VALIDATION ERROR: Data incomplete in file /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Device section Default Device must have a Driver line. When I click OK in the dialog box, it gives me an option to save anyway. Also, it's worth noting that Apply button does it job and applies changes. The problem started after upgrade to Natty. I'm running Kubuntu x64. ** Affects: nvidia-settings (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/785370 Title: nvidia-settings won't save configuration -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 591598] Re: Nepomuk error message appears at startup and won't go away by itself and can't be turned off
I was experiencing extreme slowdowns on my system with 4 cores and 4 GB of RAM and the fastest disk I could get running nothing but a browser. [Bug 578215] Re: virtuoso-t eats my cpu, should be nice
virtuoso_t uses all CPU cores and all I/O when looking at iotop, making the system unresponsive and unusable. Can't it just run nice and ionice? [Bug 689223] [NEW] kdewidgets.so should not be in -dev only
Public bug reported: (Version information follows under the bug report text) Introduction: Plasma uses a mechanism called KConfigXT to render plasmoid settings pages using an XML file. In C++ plasmoids it has no extra dependencies, as XML file is compiled along with the plasmoid. However in plasmascript (in my case, Python), the XML file is parsed at runtime and uses qtdesigner plugins to handle rendering controls. Actual problem: To render KDE controls, KConfigXT needs /usr/lib/qt4/plugins/designer/kdewidgets.so. This file, according to apt-cache, belongs to kdelibs5-dev package. It shouldn't, because it's needed for normal operation of plasmoids, not for development only. Putting it in kdelibs5-dev means that the user needs to install 177 MB of dependencies and headers just to use plasmascript plasmoids correctly. More info: What happens without kdelibs5-dev installed (on a blank kubuntu system): http://imgur.com/EzrBr.png Forum thread on kde.org where we have identified the issue: http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=64t=91656p=182039 1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System - About Ubuntu.
