[Bug 1621124] Re: Can't turn bluetooth off
Today I paired my new Philips Bluetooth speaker with Krillin on OTA-15 (BQ Aquaris E4.5). I was able to pair but there was no sound: both speaker and phone stayed silent till I rebooted it. I can't reproduce it in a web browser either. But the answer why may be answered in an attached photo. If we comment, post or write a message in a browser, a big new message editor opens. [Bug 1208993] Re: Ubuntu slows down and hangs while copying file from/to USB
Slows down and hangs seem to be two different problems. My mashines never hang but "slow down" when copying thousands of different files. After 3 hours of copying files I copied 29,4GB from 38,7GB but ONLY 20460 from 69502 files. If there is a problem that deserves a bug report then there is one with estimating the real time. At first system showed me 4 hours, then decreased to 2, the last hour lasted 110 minutes. [Bug 1626088] [NEW] Text handlers are upside down
Public bug reported: I think it was in OTA12 when someone put the text handlers over the text. As an attachment to this bug report You can see a photo how we »handle« the text with these tiny "blue dots" as I called them in another bug. Whats the problem: In order to have any control over the handlers we have to lock the screen rotation and turn the phone 180 degrees upside down. If not, whatever we want to select with the handlers is covered under our finger. Oh... You can also put the hand from over the screen as in the photo. It ain't funny neither on E4.5 nor M10. Solution: However small the handlers are, we should be able to put the finger on one of them and see what we are highlighting or where we are placing the cursor. It is at the moment impossible. ** Affects: ubuntu-ux Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "image20160921_144825898.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1626088/+attachment/4745299/+files/image20160921_144825898.jpg ** Also affects: ubuntu-ux Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1626088 Title: Text handlers are upside down To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1626088/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1544477] Re: No sound notification for new SMS (Ubuntu Touch)
Since a few days a Clock app (which I open everyday to set an alarm clock) needed to open itself something like 15 seconds so I decided to reboot the phone today. It helped. Also Sms sounds >were< :-) back. I killed them in something like 5-10 minutes. How: I used the phone with intensity of a whole week: received many messages, answered a phone call, listened to the radio, launched a movie, played a game, opened as many apps as possible and suddenly a sms message came without a sound. I reboot the phone again and perhaps it happens again. I attached a log file but I'm not sure if it is the one You need. I haven't rebooted my bq 4.5 yet if anyone has any more questions so the bug is still active on my phone with OTA-12. As I wrote several times this bug has nothing to do with anything: not a music player, not a game, it just comes out of the sky as many things in this phone. You will not reproduce it after reboot. The only possibility that comes to my mind is that sound disappears after becoming some count of messages or after a certain uptime of the device. As I wrote above the phone can be as overloaded that You won't be able to start any app but the sms sound work. Ps. Sorry that path with a memory was wrong. I just reminded myself that as I was unable to start any app, I still got a sound notification with a message. The uptime of the phone was however big. [Bug 1544477] Re: No sound notification for new SMS (Ubuntu Touch)
This bug came to me back today so I can help now as well. @Devid: I do not see any "Failed to get current playback position" in my logs. And Your last question: the one and >only< way I found to get sms sounds back is to reboot the phone. And there is many things like this that cease to function unless we reboot. That's what I noticed in case of screen rotation and music player: the longer we hear+use other function/apps the sooner a Music Player will crash (like here: Bug #1611249). >>>SMS notifications seem to go off always after some >count< of received messages<<< (or after uptime but I can't confirm-I receive to many messages) I noticed no other influence. It has nothing to do with games/Music players etc. but rather if with anything than with memory consumption (is there no system monitor for this phone?) I think the Bug #1611249 is pretty interesting that at first we are unable to launch any app and then suddenly after some time notification area repairs, Music player starts somehow if it doesn't have to load a playlist (when we open a file with the app, not start the app itself cause then it crashes). When my music player crashes, for some time I'm unable to open any app in the system. I have to wait a few minutes or reboot. Sms issue is quite opposite: it never started to play sounds again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1544477 Title: No sound notification for new SMS (Ubuntu Touch) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1544477/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1611249] [NEW] Notification area is out of the screen
Public bug reported: As You can see in the picture the icons of my indicator area (bq E4.5) flew out of the screen of my phone. No matter whether in vertical or horizontal position, the upper parts of the icons are cut off. How it happened: I went for a run with Music Player on and screen rotation unlocked. As it's not possible to control the music player with locked screen I set the locking time on 5 minutes. As we run we hold a phone in a hand at ~45 degree. That means the screen rotated several times during the first hour of my run. Then after 50-60 minutes music player crashed and left indicators in this strange position. I couldn't turn the music player on again. It tried to launch and then after several seconds crashed over and over again. I have about 4GB of music files on my phone. I thought myself that perhaps there may be a problem with the memory so I opened a music folder with the File Manager and opened one mp3 file. It took the Player some time but it eventually launched and started to play. After that I closed it and reopened which succeded and started to play my 4GB long queue using shuffle. Indicator area stayed however in the position from the photo. ** Affects: music-app Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: indicator-display (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: "screenshot20160808_233914364.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1611249/+attachment/4717257/+files/screenshot20160808_233914364.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1611249 Title: Notification area is out of the screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/music-app/+bug/1611249/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1598965] Re: Offline contact management
Today i faced another problem. Probably because of a poor synchronization with google in a memory of my phone are stored at the moment something like a 1000 contacts, perhaps close to 1500. My phone is a small BQ E4.5. Without connecting a phone to the computer we are unable to manage such an amount of contacts. Not on a 4.5' screen. My address book is still a Nokia 5500 because I can manage and synchronize it on a big computer. An adress book of my bq is useless and unreliable. Even if i copy all the contacts from my Nokia phone, which is gonna take ages, i will not be able to copy them to the M10 tablet or backup in case my phone will die or disappear. ** Attachment added: "screenshot20160805_141732522.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/address-book-app/+bug/1598965/+attachment/4714876/+files/screenshot20160805_141732522.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598965 Title: Offline contact management To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1598965/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1540108] Re: Blue dots for text marking/placing a cursor are too small
You see, thats the problem! They are too small in comparison with my finger. If I put my finger on this tiny blue thing, my fingers covers already after zooming 2-3 line of text. I can't see where is the handler. Now as someone put it over the text, situation is even worse what i reported in another bug: How can you place a handler over the text if your finger comes always from bottom of the screen? The correct solution is: 1. A handler big enough to "get" it with a finger as in my photo 2. We can't cover a whole handler! It has to be longer so that we can still see some part of it and what it does. This way we get precision. The text should be selected or cursor steered OVER a handler so that we don't cover everything as it takes place at the moment. Because of the handlers that are to small we cover our job with relatively to the screen (even by M10) size HUGE finger. And my finger are not the bigger ones that one can have. I try to do what You wrote. It is impossible. See a photo taken on M10. Now what about E4.5? I think my photo says everything. Now really try the same on Android to see how it should work. ** Attachment added: "image20160805_024237465.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1540108/+attachment/4714409/+files/image20160805_024237465.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1540108 Title: Blue dots for text marking/placing a cursor are too small To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1540108/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

MMS? Perhaps it is gonna be off topic, perhaps it is the best moment to ask this qestion: how do we decide whether a message will be sent as SMS or MMS? I just send messages from my phone. Do You wanna tell me it sends messages as MMS? Sorry I do not send many messages and never even thought that we are able to send MMS. How do we know, decide and switch? [Bug 1435040] Re: Ubuntu Phone does not connect to car-bluetooth
Today I tried with OTA12. Actually nothing changed BUT!!! I see the problem somewhere else! I tried to pair my phone with a few car audio systems. What You will see in the photos that i'm gonna attach below seems not to be a problem with the bluetooth itself but with the system. My bq4.5 displays all devices i tried to pair! Thats why i was today unable to connect: I used to connect my phone to "BT Scania" and "Scania BT". They are both visible on the list and I can't get rid of them! That seems to be a problem, cause i deleted the phone from the radio but can't forget the radios in the phone. That's why pairing is impossible. [Bug 1589703] Re: Alarm clock icon doesn't disappear (appears randomly) when alarm inactive
Ps to #12 This instruction works only randomly (not always) but i saw this behaviour already a few times. For some reason some part of the phone thinks that alarm clock is on and after a few seconds it checks the real alarm state and correts it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589703 Title: Alarm clock icon doesn't disappear (appears randomly) when alarm inactive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1589703/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1589703] Re: Alarm clock icon doesn't disappear (appears randomly) when alarm inactive
I just noticed that short after unlocking the screen, if the "window" that You see in the picture is set as the very first thing You see, the alarm clock shows itself as active (the switch is green) and after a few seconds it switches itself automatically to grey-turned off position. So the phone really "thinks" for a few seconds that the alarm clock is active. On my phone it worked this way: 1. Turn alarm clock off. 2. Set the screen that you see in an attachment as visible. 3.Wait untill the screen locks itself. 4.Unlock the screen 5.For a few seconds after unlocking You're gonna see that the alarm is active (green switch) then after a few seconds the switch turnes automatically to grey (alarm off) without touching the screen. ** Attachment added: "146809408-1974747271.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-clock-app/+bug/1589703/+attachment/4698047/+files/146809408-1974747271.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589703 Title: Alarm clock icon doesn't disappear (appears randomly) when alarm inactive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1589703/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1598676] Re: After a call, it should take user back to previous page not dialer screen
As i reported in a bug #1598922 the application shouldn't stay opened either, not only take back to the previous page. It should remember it's state from before a phone call. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1598676 Title: After a call, it should take user back to previous page not dialer screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dialer-app/+bug/1598676/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
