[Bug 1252255] Re: The 'grub-efi-amd64-signed' package failed to install into /target/. Without the GRUB boot loader, the installed system will not boot.

2016-04-29 Thread Geb
Occured on Ubuntu Gnome 16.04 LTS during a fresh install on an Netbook Model
ACER TravelMate B115.
Installation got aborted at that point.
Could only be installed by cancelling UEFI mode at beginning of installation.

[Bug 1160289] Re: Google earth search does not zoom onto a location

2015-10-26 Thread Geb
Just tried with Ubuntu-Gnome 15.10 and GE 7.1.4.1529, the search for Vienna (or
something else turns the earth to the middle of Africa.
Have System set to US-English.
Feels to me like this bug is open since years, thought Google does not maintain
this application any more.

[Bug 991139] Re: installation failed in user-setup-encrypted-swap with encrypted home and no swap: cannot stat `/etc/crypttab' : No such file or directory

2012-06-26 Thread Geb
- occured in 64 bit and 32 bit version !
- with and without swap partition (error message is confusing) !

Generating manually a user with encrypted home paritition after
installation (adduser --encrypt-home username) worked.

Lack of quality for a LTS version...

[Bug 562027] Re: [ooo-build] OOo QuickStarter: unable to shutdown / reboot / logout when quickstarter is active

2010-10-08 Thread Nut Geb
Ubuntu may not shutdown when OpenOffice Quickstarter is active, but
there is more to this than just quickstarter because, on my system, the
openoffice quickstarter was never checked and my system continues to not
shutdown properly.

Could you clarify what you mean by resetting your security to wpa2 work
(assuming you have access to settings)?
Thank you

[Bug 292368] Re: [b43] Intrepid upgrade/can't connect to wpa network

2008-11-06 Thread geb
Sorry I cannot do this. My connection problems are for my schools
network, and thus no access to settings. Many other people in the
forums are having this same problem, and while I have not tried to
connect to an unprotected network, many other people can. Encrypted
networks appear to be the problem.

Here are two topics for your references, no real solutions have been found
yet(as far as I know):

i am running 32 bit intrepid, same problem...recurring password screen

produces strange results...

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ iwconfig

eth0 no wireless extensions.

eth1 IEEE 802.11 Nickname:
