[Bug 658759] [NEW] gnome-font-viewer should run with root privilege when started from nautilus
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center To duplicate: open a ttf file from Nautilus. Click "Install Font". What happens: the button becomes inactive and the text changes to "Install Failed". Obviously this can be solved by just invoking it from a terminal using sudo like so: sudo gnome-font-viewer font.ttf However, the font viewer should probably automatically elevate its privileges the way many of the other system admin tools do since many (most?) users won't know to do this. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.10 Package: gnome-control-center 1:2.32.0-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.35-22.33-generic 2.6.35.4 Uname: Linux 2.6.35-22-generic i686 Architecture: i386 Date: Mon Oct 11 17:01:13 2010 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-control-center ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 maverick -- gnome-font-viewer should run with root privilege when started from nautilus https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/658759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 210780] Re: MTRRs set up incorrectly with 4GB RAM -> X slow
This is still a problem with 64-bit intrepid. However, the latest mtrr program (from above) seems to solve the problem. I am using the october version of the program rather than the version that is linked to (knock the file name off the end of the address). Now the problem is where to run that program during boot to make it so I don't have to restart X every time I boot up. I will post the output next time I reboot. -- MTRRs set up incorrectly with 4GB RAM -> X slow https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/210780 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 328760] Re: system unresponsive after recovery from screensaver with only desktop wallpaper showing
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it without more information. Please include the following additional information, if you have not already done so (pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by the Ubuntu Kernel Team: 1. Please include the output of the command "uname -a" in your next response. It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version you're running, as well as the CPU architecture. 2. Please run the command "dmesg > dmesg.log" after a fresh boot and attach the resulting file "dmesg.log" to this bug report. 3. Please run the command "sudo lspci -vvnn > lspci-vvnn.log" and attach the resulting file "lspci-vvnn.log" to this bug report. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please attach your X server configuration file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf) and X server log file (/var/log/Xorg.0.log) to the bug report as individual uncompressed file attachments using the "Attachment:" box below. Could you please also try to run without any /etc/X11/xorg.conf and let Xorg autodetect your display and video card? Please also attach the /var/log/Xorg.0.log from this attempt.
