[Bug 102345] Re: kde guidance does not display cpu frequency

2007-04-23 Thread Gianluca Varisco
I can confirm what tomasz2006 said above: I removed powersaved and re-
installed powernowd, so kde-guidance now works correctly. Probably it
would be better to flag 'powernowd' mandatory dependency of kde-
guidance?

[Bug 102316] Re: K3B disables DMA

2007-04-19 Thread Gianluca Varisco
Hi Florian,

According to http://www.k3b.org/ , K3B 1.0.1 was released today . The
changelog says:

- Made libk3bdevice really thread-safe. This fixes the disabled DMA bug!

So, you can build and try yourself the new version or wait that
Kubuntu/Medibuntu developers will upload the new version into the
official repository.

[Bug 107311] Re: shoutcast list is empty

2007-04-17 Thread Gianluca Varisco
I'm looking at http://yp.shoutcast.com/ and I can exclaim that the
problem is related to the shoutcast.com, site used by streamtuner. If
you try to switch to one of the directory you will receive an error:
Unfortunately, there weren't any SHOUTcast streams found under the genre
.

For example:

- http://yp.shoutcast.com/directory/index.phtml?sgenre=World
- http://yp.shoutcast.com/directory/?sgenre=Americana

I'll contact the Shoutcast Team and try to know some details about this
problem.

[Bug 102635] Re: help doesn't launch from application

2007-04-04 Thread Gianluca Varisco
I try to reproduce the problem but when I'm choosing Help (or pressing
the shortcut CTRL+H) I receive this message (see also the screenshot
attached):

Could not open help directory:
Error opening directory '/usr/share/dia/help': Nessun file o directory

So it seems to point to /usr/share/dia/ instead of /usr/share/doc/dia/

[Bug 102635] Re: help doesn't launch from application

2007-04-04 Thread Gianluca Varisco
Mh, sorry. I'm referring to the dia package and not dia-gnome.

With dia-gnome the Help section doesn't do anything. By the way, dia
package seems broken too.

[Bug 102316] Re: K3B disables DMA

2007-04-04 Thread Gianluca Varisco
Normally you have DMA enabled, isn't true?

According to https://help.ubuntu.com/community/DMA :

# See the what the settings are on /dev/hdc (where hdc is usually the
CD-rom drive)

* sudo hdparm /dev/hdc

# If you get a line like using_dma= 1 (on), DMA is already enabled.

I'm looking at k3b sources and I see this:

#: k3bsystemproblemdialog.cpp:467
msgid DMA disabled on device %1 - %2

#: k3bsystemproblemdialog.cpp:471
msgid Enable DMA temporarily as root with 'hdparm -d 1 %1'.

So you have to enable, as root, DMA by typing: sudo hdparm -d1 /dev/hdc

[Bug 95531] Re: Change Kmenu icon Kubuntu one

2007-03-24 Thread Gianluca Varisco
Johnny, you have two ways for changing the Kmenu icon:

1 - Go to /usr/share/icons/$YOUR_ICONSET/$SIZE/apps and replace the file
kmenu.png with your custom kmenu.png;

2 - Using kbfx you can, easily, set your custom Kmenu icon.
