[Bug 1809038] [NEW] [snap] Cannot install extension: 'Could not create download directory'

2018-12-18 Thread Glotzbach
Public bug reported:

I tried installing an extension from the Chrome web store (which I
believe normally should work), but when clicking 'Add to Chrome' and
confirming, Chromium gives an error:

"An error has occurred
Could not create download directory"

I guess this has to do with the advanced security features of snaps?

[Bug 1751005] Re: libreoffice cannot open a document not within $HOME

2018-11-04 Thread Glotzbach
I just did a dual-boot clean install with W$10 and Ubuntu 18.04, with a
separate partition for my files, auto-mounted via fstab edit. I did a
'minimal install', and added LibreOffice via the software centre, which
delivered me the snap version.

If I understand the last few comments correctly, the issue is now 'fixed
& closed'? However, with my libreoffice-6.1.2.1-snap1 version, i'm still
experiencing this issue. I'm confused... (apart from that, I'll see if I
manage to fix it as per earlier suggestions)

[Bug 1295627] Re: Wrong language (German) after fresh install

2018-11-04 Thread Glotzbach
Physically in The Netherlands, set location in the installer to
Brussels, Belgium. And I have German date in my top bar in 18.04 LTS...

A choice would indeed be nice, if there's more than one official
languages for the location.

[Bug 1484259] Re: scaleable launcher icons scale to blurry on external monitor

2015-08-12 Thread Glotzbach
The developers of the icon theme mentioned something about icon size,
and indeed:

In the range 30 - 48
Current size: 36
Sizes that render normal icons: 30, 32, 40, 46, 48
Sizes that render normal icons but crenelated area borders: 38

[Bug 1484259] [NEW] scaleable launcher icons scale to blurry on external monitor

2015-08-12 Thread Glotzbach
Public bug reported:

When connecting my external monitor (Dell U2713H, 1920x1080) via HDMI,
all elements on the screen scale properly, except for the icons in the
launcher which display a bit garbled/blurry (don't know what is the
appropriate term in English, see attachment). Icons show normal on my
laptop, and also the icons of the window switcher (alt+tab) display as
expected.

I am using the Numix Circle icon theme (https://github.com/numixproject
/numix-icon-theme-circle). As the window switcher shows the icons
normally, the theme uses scaleable icons, and non-numix icons are
affected too, I suspect it has not anything to do with the theme.

[Bug 1468771] [NEW] not full text audio generated if text too long

2015-06-25 Thread Glotzbach
Public bug reported:

using `pico2wave -w output.wav $(cat ~/input.txt)` I've tried to make
a spoken version of a document. However, if I do so, the document
(consisting of 71.180 characters), gets only read until character 5.774;
another, pure Lorum Ipsum document gets to 33746 characters, but some
other number of characters (33071, 32999) render a Cannot put Text

[Bug 1451183] [NEW] printing job (multiple-page PDF) stops half way, status stays 'processing'

2015-05-03 Thread Glotzbach
Public bug reported:

When printing a multiple-file pdf page sent from Adobe PDF Reader (other
situations not tested), a printing job starts as normal, but gets stuck
after one or 1,5 page. Both CUPS and the printer display say
'processing', the page gets stuck wherever the printer stopped printing.

Curious thing: after a full reboot (Shut Down... - Restart), the
printer starts the job again, then (often) does finish it.

[Bug 790183] Re: [138a:0011] Fingerprint reader Validity Sensors not recognized

Is there anything we can do to get this device supported? I'd be happy

the Windows drivers? (Sorry if this is a weird suggestion; I have no

that I've added the postman ppa myself, so I don't know whether that
might be the problem in my case (I mean: maybe the software centre
doesn't support reviews for non-standard ppa's?).

[Bug 918617] Re: Greeter does not support dynamic wallpapers

2012-09-19 Thread Glotzbach
I think it is unfortunate that, while many design tweaks are made an the
GUI gets a lot of attention from Canonical, this bug seems to remain
unresolved. Not the least because users get mixed feedback (setting the
desktop wallpaper to one image changes that of the login screen as well,
but for the 'slideshow' this doesn't work).

If you don't want the default background of unity greeter, and you want
a dynamic/slideshow background for you desktop, you may find a temporary
and local fix here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/64001/how-do-i

I see your point in not enabling the grouping char.
So, if I understand you correctly, both the comma and the point are accepted as
decimal char.
Looking forward to the next version :)

[Bug 123704] Re: Numpad dot key does not work for french locale

Will the entered characters then be recognised as edited in the display
format preferences (in my case: a comma as a decimal char and a dot as a
grouping char), or is are the preferences solely for output (thus not
for user input)?
