[Bug 572074]
Hi, I gave up on trying to get these options "fixed" so I started using an add-on named "Tab Mix Plus". This add-on has a setting in it's preferences that traverses ctrl-t navigates tabs in the most recently used order. Somehow that was set... it was driving me NUTS! It has some really nice features. Hi, I reported this problem a few days ago. It appears on the released version AND the beta version of FF. I don't understand why it's still happening. I HAVE seen it work properly several times yet, here we are again with a failure. It usually happens when I'm in a hurry and hit the wrong key by accident. As I said, I HAVE seen it work properly and am always amazed when it fails to warn me. Could someone please explain to me why we are "here" again? Hi, This problem just started happening to me with FF Nightly, which I update daily. Two updates ago, it was working wonderfully... now it's "adios" with NO warning. Florent, Thank you for all your precious time spent in clarifying this situation. It really is a bag of worms. Unfortunately. Does anyone know of a browser that does this better? Maybe what they do could be applied to this situation? This is like trying to make everyone happy. Virtually impossible to do. I had written a bug about changing font sizes affecting the display of text adversely... resulting in buttons that are only half (or less) there. Probably the same situation as this one. Sigh... [Bug 27867]
Hi, It seems to me that you're trying to keep the user(s) from doing something stupid. Users will almost ALWAYS try to do something stupid, not necessarily on purpose but by accident. Like black text on a black background. It's inescapable. Don't even try. Perhaps a disclaimer when the option to use user settings instead of a sites settings would be enough? It would CERTAINLY be for me. Maybe, you can add a button or something in a predictable part of the display that would let the user change the settings back to defaults for a specific site. Maybe two consecutive clicks would switch away and then switch back? Maybe forever? Maybe for just this one instance where the browser is displaying a particular site? I would find such a solution quite acceptable. Thanks for your masterful, well thought out response for this bug. [Bug 647610] Re: kwin_opengl_test crashed with SIGSEGV in XF86DRIQueryVersion()
Howdy, I'm not running Ubuntu yet but you might be interested in this info anyway. This is Fedora Core 14, fully up to date. I did an Ask.com search and got a hit on this code. I have filed a bug at bugzilla.redhat.com. I get corefiles frequently from this code: /usr/libexec/kde4/kwin_opengl_test. Did it come from ATI? Should I file a bug with them for this? I keep getting core files with the following gdb info. They seem to appear in relation to logging out from KDE 4.5.5 but may be happening at other times as well. Periodically I get a strange event on the display. It's like the monitor got a shock. It seems to show the contents of a buffer that QUICKLY re-asserts itself before you can read it. Maybe a core file results from this? I'll start watching... Just got an event... checking... Argh! No perceivable timestamps... I'll include my current Xorg.0.log file...
