[Bug 991548] [NEW] package linux-image-2.6.32-41-generic 2.6.32-41.88 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2012-04-29 Thread H I Murphy
Public bug reported:

I expected to download and update the latest updates from the Ubuntu
repository. Instead of running to completion, the installation of the
updates failed during the install phase.

Problem occurred after the installation process began to read or search for
grub, it searched for the splash screen unsuccessfully then began to install
kernel packages. It got all the way down to the memtest86.bin then the
installation process just sort of hung there for about half-hour or more. I
finally ended the process with ctrl-c and rebooted.
I am not sure this is a bug, but I have never seen this particular problem
before. I don't know if I could get the system to repeat it or not.

That's the problem. The track should not be moved to the trash. One should
be able to remove the track from the playlist *without* sending it to the
trash. There seems to be no way to do that.

Pedro, thanks for your rapid response.

Re: [Bug 232106] Re: No 10 envelope has about 2-1/4 inches extra space on top

2009-02-11 Thread H I Murphy
Chris,

Thanks for giving me a heads up on the fix. When I attempted to insert the
envelope, it appeared to work as it was originally supposed to; the Print
Preview appeared satisfactorially. I agree, close it out.

When I attempted to print the envelope from my printer, the printed return
address on envelope came out rotated 90 degrees clockwise, but that's
another problem. It may just be how my printer is setup - straight feed, end
first. I'll work with it awhile and see what I can figure out. If I can't
work it out, I'll submit another discrepancy report.

Again, thanks.

Yes, I just tried it again and the results were the same.

When I originally attempted to print a No 10 envelope, just to make sure I

results.

[Bug 232106] [NEW] No 10 envelope has about 2-1/4 inches extra space on top

2008-05-19 Thread H I Murphy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

 lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 8.04
Release:8.04

OpenOffice 2.4

I expected to be able to print a normal sized No. 10 envelope (9-1/2 in
by 4-1/8 in) with the return address and the to address in the correct
locations.

If you take a look at the attached screenshot.png, you can see there is
an extra 2-1/4 inches or so at the top of the inserted envelope
document. I tried modify the vertical size, but I couldn't figure out
how to do it. When one prints the envelope the addresses are printed an
extra 1-1/2 inches down from where they should be printed.

[Bug 94258] Applications icon disappeared from Panel 1

2007-03-20 Thread H I Murphy
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xfdesktop4

No application icon was present in panel 1 after logging on. Rebooted, still no
icon.
I could not recreate it since I don't know how it happened in the first place.
I wondered if I had done something inadvertently to have caused this error
indication; I do not know; I am new to testing Xubuntu so please bear with me.
I would not want to cause any of your developers to research something that
turned out to be operator error.
