[Bug 540093] [NEW] Feature request: add a search box in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-control-center There are roughly 75 keyboard shortcut functions available to be configured. Finding the right one can be time consuming and frustrating. It would be nice if there was a SEARCH box where the user could type a fragment of a function name, and the dialog would filter just those functions which match. This is essentially the *exact* same idea as is already present in Add to panel dialog. $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 9.10 Release:9.10 $ apt-cache policy gnome-control-center gnome-control-center: Installed: 1:2.28.1-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:2.28.1-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1:2.28.1-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Feature request: add a search box in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/540093 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 27086] Re: Evolution cannot send email using encrypted SMTP server
I do not see this defect any more. I am now running Ubuntu (Dapper, Hardy, and Jaunty) and none of those platforms exhibit the problem today. -- Evolution cannot send email using encrypted SMTP server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/27086 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 222360] [NEW] Monitor not configured correctly in x.org
Public bug reported: Samsung 193P LCD monitor 1280x1024 60Hz Nvidia nForce3 Ultra (PNY Verto FX 5500) AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Shuttle XPC case This bug was present in both Gutsy and now Hardy, but not in Dapper. Knoppix gets the configuration correct, by the way. I've tried stealing the xorg.conf file from Knoppix and using it with Gutsy, but no joy. Also tried tweaking my xorg.conf with xvidtune, but it complains that You have requested a mode-line that is not possible, or not supported by your hardware configuration. See the attached photo, a close-up of the bottom right corner of my monitor. There is a large black strip running vertically down the entire right side, which is about 3/4 of an inch wide. This bug is present regardless of whether I use the free nvidia driver, or the one I get using the restricted driver, though the size and position is slightly different. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Monitor not configured correctly in x.org https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222360 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 50823] Suspend and hibernate used to work - now broken
Public bug reported: I am running Dapper on a IBM Thinkpad T42. When I first installed Dapper, both suspend and hibernate worked perfectly every time. I could invoke them from the tray icon, or from the lid being closed. I was very happy. Then, there was a kernel upgrade (2.6.15-25-686) which caused the machine to never boot. So I dropped back to the 2.6.15-23-686 kernel by changing my /boot/grub/menu.lst file. Suspend and hibernate worked fine for a week or so. Then there was a pcmcia-cs update, and now suspend and hibernate are broken. When I do a suspend, I get a small dialog bubble which says: Suspend Problem Your computer failed to suspend. Check the FAQ page for common problems. The FAQ page is a link to http://www.gnome.org/projects/gnome-power- manager/faq.html which provides no help whatsoever. When I do a hibernate, I get a small dialog bubble which says: Hibernate Problem HAL failed to hibernate. Check the FAQ page for common problems. The FAQ page is the same non-helpful link to the GNOME Power manager. I see entries in /var/log/syslog indicating that gnome-power-manager: Suspending computer because user clicked suspend from tray menu I do not get any useful messages in /var/log/acpid. ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Untriaged Status: Unconfirmed -- Suspend and hibernate used to work - now broken https://launchpad.net/bugs/50823 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
