[Bug 1628247] Re: yakkety 1.8.2+nmu1ubuntu1 does not install due to changed chrome keys

2016-10-09 Thread Henrik S.
Small correction: For me this issue was present for 1.8.2ubuntu1 which
is what yakkety yak currently ships. OP reports the issue for the
version that is currently in pre-release.

[Bug 1628247] Re: yakkety 1.8.2+nmu1ubuntu1 does not install due to changed chrome keys

2016-10-09 Thread Henrik S.
Issue confirmed for Yakkety Yak beta. The debian changelog lists the bug
as fixed for 1.8.2-nmu1, which is weird since this is the same version
that ubuntu currently uses.

As for the ubuntu changes, change #2 is needed, change #1 sounds like it
is needed, and I have no idea about change #3, but it sounds like it
disables legacy HAL which could affect DRM (digital rights management).
Suggest keeping it for now, to avoid introducing any regressions.

The packaging also intermixes debian and ubuntu changes which is a
hassle for maintainers, it would be better if the ubuntu changes were
kept separate, making it clear what has changed. You can do this by
changing debian/source/format away from native to allow the source
package to have a diff.

Please fix.

[Bug 1567749] [NEW] screen artifacts when playing runescape (java client)

2016-04-07 Thread Henrik S.
Public bug reported:

I get screen artifacts in the game Runescape, when playing on Ubuntu
16.04 Xenial Xerus, this happened right after the update to mesa
1.2.0-1ubuntu1 so it's a regression in this version of mesa.

Glad you updated though, but since this is a dot-zero release it needs
to be patched with fixes from git until they officially release another
bugfix release.

Bug is not reported upstream AFAIK.

[Bug 1015068] Re: Bastion has lags

2013-05-07 Thread Henrik S.
Your CPU seems ok-ish, however I noticed you have the same GPU I had
before - the Intel 965GM. I beleive that is the reason for your lag
problems. Some games have expectations of GPU capabilities and Mesa or
the game itself might try to emulate missing features resulting in a
laggy experience. I'm not sure but I think the GPU you have doesn't do
shading, transform and lighting which well... games kind of expect these
days along with OpenGL 3 conformance which your GPU doesn't provide.

I suggest flagging the bug invalid if there are no contra-indications.

[Bug 1171393] [NEW] Loop bug in cmake curses gui

2013-04-22 Thread Henrik S.
Public bug reported:

I've encountered what looks like a reproducible malfunction in the
curses gui of cmake version 2.8.10.1-0ubuntu6 (raring amd64).

When I press 'C' for configure, the status line keeps updating in a loop
over and over. This problem does not occur in the command line version
of cmake however.

To reproduce grab a fresh git clone of libmirage. create a 'build'
subdirectory and change into it. Then run 'ccmake ..' and press the T
button. Change CMAKE_C_COMPILER to /usr/bin/clang. Press the C button.
An endless loop will occur.

libmirage can be obtained here: http://cdemu.org/project/#git

Edit: Looks like the bug was reported and resolved upstream.

[Bug 1017153] Re: Regression in flash plugin = 11.2.x

2013-02-14 Thread Henrik S.
I can't do a differential since my old lenovo died. it was on that computer i
experienced the problem. it had an old gma 965 mobile (?) intel chipset which
supported at most opengl 2.1 and had no transformlighting capabilities it
seemed.
right now i'm on a lenovo edge e530 with a intel ivy bridge chipset.

what i can say is that i do not experience problems with flash on my
current computer, but if that is due to higher performance or better
hardware capabilities that's hard to say. there might still be a
performance regression without it being noticeable to the naked eye. you
will have to run cpu utilization tests to confirm.

specs for new box:
OpenGL vendor string: Intel Open Source Technology Center
OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) Ivybridge Mobile
OpenGL version string: 3.0 Mesa 9.0
OpenGL shading language version string: 1.30

flash plugin at the moment:
Architecture: amd64
Version: 11.2.202.262-0quantal1

there's nothing in the bug report that seems to implicate cdemu.

and your system seems to recognize the physical cdrom just fine, you're
just missing a symlink, that's all.

to fix it just run:
sudo ln -s /dev/sg0 /dev/cdrom

AFAIK cdroms are automatically mounted nowadays. so no fstab entry
necessary.

If this doesn't happen on your computer, I don't know why, but I would
guess it's related to your udev configuration.

[Bug 1017153] [NEW] Regression in flash plugin = 11.2.x

2012-06-24 Thread Henrik S.
Public bug reported:

I experience choppy video and audio in the flash player shipped with
ubuntu precise (11.2.202.236ubuntu0). I am using the 64-bit version of
the plugin.

I investigated this further by downloading and installing older builds
of the flash plugin and installed them manually. I found that the
problem persisted across all the 11.2.x builds, however downgrading to
11.1.102.63 remedied the issue and video playback using this plugin
results in smooth audio and video. Please note that this happens
regardless of quality setting. For this reason I conclude it is a
regression introduced in 11.2.

You might want to enable users to downgrade to this version easier.
Offer the old version for download as well until Adobe manages to fix
this issue (if they even give a shit).

Tried to run the game Bastion and get the message:

uname reports:

Integrated Graphics Controller (primary) (rev 0c)
00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated

I guess it's the samme issue. and i run gnome 3 so clearly it's not an
issue with unity. my guess is it's either an issue with the kernel
driver or mesa. maintainers should check upstream for fixes.

Check the vhba version to see if it is not an old one:

Then post the new crash message here. If it doesn't read vhba_ctl_read
