[Bug 757242] Re: Memory corruption when inserting usb 3 uas device

2013-02-26 Thread Herton R. Krzesinski
I belive this was related to the uas driver, which is known to cause
issues and because of that was marked as broken and disabled on all
stable kernels recently (3.0.57 and onwards, commit
fb37ef98015f864d22be223a0e0d93547cd1d4ef). Natty doesn't got the fix as
it is already EOL, but Oneiric and later have now the uas driver
disabled, so I'm marking this fixed. If you still experience the
problem, please set the status back from fix released.

[Bug 1131944] [NEW] Quantal update to 3.5.7.6 stable release

2013-02-22 Thread Herton R. Krzesinski
Public bug reported:

SRU Justification

Impact:
The upstream process for stable tree updates is quite similar
in scope to the Ubuntu SRU process, e.g., each patch has to
demonstrably fix a bug, and each patch is vetted by upstream
by originating either directly from Linus' tree or in a minimally
backported form of that patch. The 3.5.7.6 upstream stable
patch set is now available. It should be included in the Ubuntu
   kernel as well.

   git://git.kernel.org/

TEST CASE: TBD

The following patches are in the 3.5.7.6 stable release:

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Quantal)
 Importance: Undecided

+ Also, the patch ptrace: ensure arch_ptrace/ptrace_request can never
+ race with SIGKILL was already applied, but reverted and reapplied with
+ the version from 3.2.39, since it is more complete with an additional
+ change to a comment introduced in commit ptrace/x86: Partly fix
+ set_task_blockstep()-update_debugctlmsr() logic, which also came with
+ 3.2.39.

[Bug 1116338] Re: linux-image-virtual does not have dlm module

2013-02-05 Thread Herton R. Krzesinski
Installing linux-image-extra-virtual should provide the dlm module. If
this is a must have for virtualized enviroments, we could move it to the
main linux-image-virtual, is that the case? (if yes, may be we also
should move may be gfs2?)

[Bug 1108920] [NEW] Oneiric update to 3.0.61 stable release

2013-01-29 Thread Herton R.

The 3.0.61 upstream stable
patch set is now available. It should be included in the Ubuntu
   kernel as well.

   git://git.kernel.org/

TEST CASE: TBD

The following patches are in the 3.0.61 stable release:

drm/i915: Invalidate the relocation presumed_offsets along the slow path
ftrace: Be first to run code modification on modules
PCI: Allow pcie_aspm=force even when FADT indicates it is unsupported
USB: UHCI: fix IRQ race during initialization
SCSI: sd: Reshuffle init_sd to avoid crash
drivers/firmware/dmi_scan.c: check dmi version when get system uuid
drivers/firmware/dmi_scan.c: fetch dmi version from SMBIOS if it exists
serial: 8250, increase PASS_LIMIT
staging: usbip: changed function return type to void
drm/i915: Implement WaDisableHiZPlanesWhenMSAAEnabled
ahci: Add identifiers for ASM106x devices
x86: Use enum instead of literals for trap values [PARTIAL]
SGI-XP: handle non-fatal traps
ACPI / cpuidle: Fix NULL pointer issues when cpuidle is disabled
ioat: Fix DMA memory sync direction correct flag
Linux 3.0.61

[Bug 1102988] [NEW] Oneiric update to 3.0.60 stable release

2013-01-22 Thread Herton R.

The 3.0.60 upstream stable
patch set is now available. It should be included in the Ubuntu
   kernel as well.

   git://git.kernel.org/

TEST CASE: TBD

The following patches are in the 3.0.60 stable release:

sh: Fix FDPIC binary loader
tcm_fc: Do not indicate retry capability to initiators
tcm_fc: Do not report target role when target is not defined
s390/time: fix sched_clock() overflow
x86/Sandy Bridge: reserve pages when integrated graphics is present
ext4: init pagevec in ext4_da_block_invalidatepages
powerpc: fix wii_memory_fixups() compile error on 3.0.y tree
USB: fix endpoint-disabling for failed config changes
intel-iommu: Prevent devices with RMRRs from being placed into SI Domain
drbd: add missing part_round_stats to _drbd_start_io_acct
xhci: fix null-pointer dereference when destroying half-built segment rings
xen: Fix stack corruption in xen_failsafe_callback for 32bit PVOPS guests.
USB: option: add TP-LINK HSUPA Modem MA180
USB: option: blacklist network interface on ONDA MT8205 4G LTE
serial:ifx6x60:Delete SPI timer when shut down port
staging: vt6656: Fix inconsistent structure packing
