[Bug 1550784] Re: kea dhcp server daemons brought up before networking

2016-10-19 Thread Hugo Slabbert
@Halvor

Yes; no joy on that.

My understanding is that systemd-networkd-wait-online is only effective
if you're running systemd-networkd, which I'm not, as this is a vanilla
Ubuntu 16.04 *server* instance, with ifupdown, not NetworkManager or
systemd-networkd.

[Bug 1550784] Re: kea dhcp server daemons brought up before networking

2016-09-12 Thread Hugo Slabbert
This seems to be more than just kea affected. From what I can tell,
systemd's network-online.target and network.target are basically useless
on 16.04 server. I'm running 16.04 server with ifupdown, which is stock
as far as I can tell, so I'm running neither systemd-networkd or
NetworkManager and any references to network.target or network-
online.target in systemd unit definitions seem to do nothing.

This works around it successfully:

http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/209832/debian-systemd-network-
online-target-not-working

...but we really shouldn't have to write shell wrappers around ifquery
in a systemd unit definition just to get a daemon to wait for network,
IMHO.

Description: system and service manager
systemd is a system and service manager for Linux. It provides aggressive
parallelization capabilities, uses socket and D-Bus activation for starting
services, offers on-demand starting of daemons, keeps track of processes
using Linux control groups, supports snapshotting and restoring of the system
state, maintains mount and automount points and implements an elaborate
 transactional dependency-based service control logic.
 .
systemd is compatible with SysV and LSB init scripts and can work as a
 drop-in replacement for sysvinit.
 .
Installing the systemd package will not switch your init system unless you
boot with init=/bin/systemd or install systemd-sysv in addition.

Similar to John, I can confirm 2.10.1-1 from Debian also runs without
issue on my setup (thanks to John for the pointer and a bunch of the
digging on this one).

[Bug 1316293] Re: unable to start

2015-01-14 Thread Hugo Slabbert
I'm also running slapd on the affected box. Similar setup:
- amavis user and group are local
- only end user users and groups in ldap

Checking back a bit further in the logs, I did also find this in syslog:

Jan 11 21:59:06 bamboo amavis[2820]: nss-ldap: do_open: do_start_tls
failed:stat=-1

I'm out at the moment but will check further this evening if perhaps
there are some TLS issues to clean up with slapd on that box that could
be causing amavis issues.

[Bug 1316293] Re: unable to start

2015-01-08 Thread Hugo Slabbert
I hit a similar issue. Happened to stumble across a forum post that
pointed to a non-qualified hostname in /etc/hostname. On my new 14.04
install I found I actually *did* have a non-qualified name in
/etc/hostname. I changed that to an FQDN, bounced the box, and amavis
then started up fine.

Perhaps give that a shot?
