[Bug 994887] Re: Nodes listing does not support sorting

2012-10-25 Thread Huw Wilkins
There's a UI issue with the committed change that I did not pick up
until I used it in that the "MAC" column header is used to sort the
hostname. This doesn't really make sense.

To be able to sort by hostname we need to find a more sensible approach.

I have noticed exactly the same thing with libmtp 1.0.2 and pymtp 0.0.4-1.1 and
have also created a patch to match thr libmtp.h header file. The changes I made
included:
 - LIBMTP_Device: renamed interface_number to object_bitsize to match the
libmtp.h name.
 - add modificationdate field c_long to LIBMTP_File
 - add modificationdate field c_long to LIBMTP_Track
 - add ALBUM and PLAYLIST values to the file type enum.

[Bug 367877] Re: Tabbing between links does not highlight them

2010-08-09 Thread Huw Wilkins
This is the result of 'outline' being set to 'none' in the css (in
combo.css). It's common when doing a css reset to turn remove the
outline on links. However, as Alan picked up, this isn't so good for
accessibility. There are two ways to go about fixing this.

Option A:
Re-apply the outline after the reset. This would set a uniform style across all
browsers.

Option B:
Remove the original outline reset. This would then use the browser default for
active items.

I would recommend option B. This is a case where using the browser
default is a good thing. Some browsers signify that an item is active
with quite different styles and it's probably better to give the user
the feedback that they are used to (for example, compare the way Chrome
and Firefox do this). Looking at the CSS I can't see a particular reason
this is being reset, and removing this shouldn't affect anything else.

I can submit a patch for this, but I just wanted to confirm this
decision before I do...

[Bug 322935] Re: Flash plugin fails to display

2009-08-21 Thread Huw
I don't know if this will help with solving this really annoying bug,
but I've realised that Flash can suddenly stop working when I open
another tab in Firefox that also contains Flash.

For example, just now I was listening to some music in a Flash player on
one website, and when I opened a tab and navigated to another website
that contained Flash, all Flash content just disappeared to be replaced
by the grey boxes and the music playback ended. So it can actually be
interrupted.

sadly this patch will break existing working setups if people use the
preferences dialog because it will automatically re-write url_ending to
/xmlrpc.php

so if you do have a /wordpress/xmlrp.php install that is currently
working this patch has the potential to break it.

[Bug 31706] Re: [Bug 31706] Re: All updates show up as "Not Authenticated" when only one is.

2006-06-29 Thread Thorne Huw Lawler
Jerome,

I would love to test this, but my Dapper box is currently throwing kernel
panics from somewhere in its Intel ICH7 SATA controller code. The said
hardware works perfectly under Win2k and multi-day Hitachi-Disk-Fitness
tests, so I'm confident that it's a Kernel issue.

Repeated posts to the Ubuntu Users mailing list have availed me nought but
one loon who had a bad experience with WD in 1992, and now assures me
that no WD drive can ever be trusted, regardless of testing.

If you can tell me where I might find some helpful support on an issue
like this, I would be only too happy to test this and any other bug you
care to name.

Otherwise, sadly, it will have to wait.
