[Bug 706452] [NEW] Update from local files won't work with files in UPPER case
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gpredict When updating the TLE offline (aka from local files) the software won't see any file with UPPER CASE letters. Try it... Download a TLE update (say from: http://www.tle.info/data/TLE.ZIP) an unzip it in a empty folder (the resultant file is named TLE.TXT) try to update from this folder... Result: the gpredict software has no update, as if the folder was empy, so it won't see files in upper case, next try to rename the file with lower case an push an local update, this time the update is ok. This is not a major bug but a detail. 73 Alex from CO7WT ** Affects: gpredict (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/706452 Title: Update from local files won't work with files in UPPER case -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 620072] Re: gpredict crashes on TLE update network or local files
Hello again... In the past days i have been playing around with gpredict about this crash (gpredict 1.1-5ubuntu1) and i have tested and proved the following... 1- When I update from local files with only one file some times it work and some it crashes.. 2- Some times with a few files it works and some times it not... With all the files provided in the default url as local files it definitely crashes... So It may be some related to the number of files or the size of the buffer for the actualization, maybe with the number of files, etc. Just thinking, I hope this info will have some use for fixing this issue. 73. -- gpredict crashes on TLE update network or local files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/620072 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

When I make a new release it will be available in my PPA until the official Ubuntu package gets updated. If you have a slow Internet connection, you can speed up the network update process by discarding the satellites you do not need. Re: [Bug 495661] Re: Sound playing in LTSP clients using jaunty and gnome crash after a while using any player
well my friend, i fix it upgradit to karmic... 2010/3/15 David Groos djgr...@gmail.com I'm running Jaunty as thin clients in my classroom and have the same issue. I've noticed since first boot that the boot sound is often corrupted. It has problems in different ways. Sometimes it will sound like popping or firecrackers in the background. Sometime the sound will cut off half way through the launch. Sometimes there will be no sound. I've never heard it play perfectly--the most common is the firecracker sound in the background. I was just trying to play Rhythmbox and it worked fine for 5 seconds then froze. I force quite it. I can restart it, but there is no sound when a song plays. Also, when I go to Preferences/Sound and try and test one of the sound players, any one, they all give an error message such as this one: audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink: Failed to connect: Connection refused All error messages talk about 'Connection refused'. I've had this issue for months but it hasn't been a critical functionality but it would be great. -- Sound playing in LTSP clients using jaunty and gnome crash after a while using any player https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/495661 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- Sound playing in LTSP clients using jaunty and gnome crash after a while using any player https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/495661 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

ok, I have a similar one. Just upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04 the server and the client chroot, installed all ok and sound actually do this thing that you comment. [Bug 360355] Re: Client volume control changes sound volume in the server
I had some of the problems you mention, just upgraded 8.10 9.04 and sound is making weird things like you describe in number 4 (before with 8.10 all worked fine in the first shoot) but if using local apps (see ubuntuLTSP page form localapps in ubuntu wiki, using totem, vlc, mplayer [this need redirect the sound out to OSS]) the sound work great, try that workaround, it's working for me. The device associated with the volume applet in my installation is a sis ### via pulseaudio (the local device) as the server has no sound device... (intel server professional board) but the thing appears to be something in the middle changing the default device for the sound geting redirected for the server one, because after a while the applet show no sound device ( it's geting redirected to the server) -- Client volume control changes sound volume in the server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/360355 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 495661] [NEW] Sound playing in LTSP clients using jaunty and gnome crash after a while using any player
Public bug reported: I'm using the following Software: Description:Ubuntu 9.04 Release:9.04 Upgraded 8.10 9.04 jaunty release partially updated (slow link sorry), And client chroot rebuid (/home/ remains the same) Linux servercam 2.6.28-11-server #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 02:48:10 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux ltsp-server 5.1.65-0ubuntu2 ltsp-server-standalone 5.1.65-0ubuntu2 pulseaudio 1:0.9.14-0ubuntu20 gnome-applets 2.26.1-0ubuntu1 Hardware: Intel S3000AHV board 32bit + Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz + 4Gb RAM 667 Mhz (NO SOUND CARD!!!) The sound playing is ok just after login with any media player (vlc, totem, rythmbox, mplayer, etc) but after a while (5 to 20 minutes randomly) the sound stop responding and the volume applet show no device to attach to (before this ocurs it show the local sis chipset via pulseaudio) It seems like is a combination of ltsp sound handling + pulse + gnome? problem. I supposed that the sound work with any problem after the upgrade, but it's not working as needed If you log off the client and logon as other user problem remains, if you reboot, problem solved after 20 minutes more it happens again. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ltsp pulse sound -- Sound playing in LTSP clients using jaunty and gnome crash after a while using any player https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/495661 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
