[Bug 828850] Re: software-properties-gtk crashed with DBusException in call_blocking(): com.ubuntu.SoftwareProperties.PermissionDeniedByPolicy: com.ubuntu.softwareproperties.applychanges

2011-09-15 Thread Scarred Intellect
I was able to work around this by using TAB to select a source and
SPACEBAR to activate the check box. Now I can check/uncheck at will
and have no errors.

I noticed yesterday when I encountered the bug it didn't prompt me for
password when I made a selection, but today it does (whether I check or
uncheck the box) every time I open that dialog.

Hope this information helps. If I figure out more details I'll post them
as well.

[Bug 105195] Re: kvm can not run Windows XP

2011-02-16 Thread Intellect
Thanks K. Chowksey. Your post helped me to solve my problem whith
installation of windows XP on host_device on lvm on Gentoo. Set my drive
like that -drive file=/dev/mapper/vg_main-
lv_profstr,format=host_device,cache=none,if=ide,media=disk before the
first stage of windows XP installation.

[Bug 298056] Re: XP fails to install in KVM on a LVM block device

2011-02-16 Thread Intellect
I'm not shure if it is a bug. Had the same problem on Gentoo. It seems
one should use cache=none when using row or host_device on lvm. Setting
-drive ...,cache=none before the first stage of windows XP installation
solved the problem.

[Bug 400542] [NEW] matchname: host name/address mismatch: ::ffff:127.0.0.1 != localhost

2009-07-17 Thread Intellect
Public bug reported:

While adding a share with nautilus-share i'm getting errors in
/var/log/samba/log.___127.0.0.1

[2009/07/17 09:48:56,  0] lib/util_sock.c:matchname(1749)
  matchname: host name/address mismatch: :::127.0.0.1 != localhost
[2009/07/17 09:48:56,  0] lib/util_sock.c:get_peer_name(1870)
  Matchname failed on localhost :::127.0.0.1
[2009/07/17 09:48:56,  0] lib/access.c:check_access(410)
  Denied connection from UNKNOWN (:::127.0.0.1)

This problem solved by adding :::127.0.0.1 to my hosts allow in
smb.conf. But man page says that 127.0.0.1 will always be allowed acess
unless specifically denied by a hosts deny option.

** Affects: samba (Ubuntu)

[Bug 397759] [NEW] [NOTFOUND=return] in nsswitch.conf prevents local addresses from resolving with local dns-server

2009-07-10 Thread Intellect
Public bug reported:

[NOTFOUND=return] in nsswitch.conf prevents local addresses from
resolving with local dns-server.

Ubuntu 9.04

dig machine.mydomain.local or nslookup machine.mydomain.local resolves the
address correctly.
ping machine.mydomain.local or telnet machine.mydomain.local fails with
resolving.
Adress of DNS server is retrieved by DHCP from windows server.
DNS server is on Windows Server 2003 R2.

Removing [NOTFOUND=return] from hosts: in /etc/nsswitch.conf solves
the problem.
