[Bug 1091464] Re: Unable to chainload Windows 8 with Secure Boot enabled

2014-02-08 Thread Ivan Noris
Hello,

I'm also having the cannot load image error with SecureBoot=enabled after the
installation of Ubuntu 13.10 on Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E330 (with pre-installed
Windows 8).
Windows 8 was booting normally before the installation.
Ubuntu was installed during SecureBoot=enabled from USB key.
Ubuntu is booting normally after the installation.
Windows 8 is not booting from GRUB (cannot load image) after the installation.
I've temporarily disabled SecureBoot, which seems to work (both operating
systems are bootable and working).

FWIW, the Ubuntu 13.10 installer did NOT detect Windows8 OS during the
installation.

[Bug 482622] Re: After configuring a caldav Calendar, 100% CPU load, caldav not loaded

2009-12-25 Thread Ivan Noris
(This should be lightning-extension package, not lightning).

I have the same problem:

- I'm using Davical CalDAV calendar server (0.9.7)
- I'm using Ubuntu 9.10 (upgraded a few days ago, but the same behaviour was on
the Ubuntu 9.04 as well)

When running Thunderbird with lightning-extension configured, I have to restart
it (sometimes as well as 10 times!) to have my calendar displayed!
I have the same calendar configured in Evolution and Sunbird (both Ubuntu 9.10
packages) and the calendar displays and always works.
Also: when I remove/unsubscribe the calendar and try to configure it again, it
always works in the current Thunderbird session, but after the first TB
restart, it behaves as described.

The bigger problem is, that when Thunderbird is hanging, I can't
access my IMAP folders (seems that all network threads of TB are busy
because the calendar does not load data or something like that).

When running from the terminal, the following is displayed:

(thunderbird-bin:29680): GLib-WARNING **: g_set_prgname() called multiple times
Registering Enigmail account manager extension.
Enigmail account manager extension registered.

[Bug 405596] Re: Thunderbird crashes a few seconds after launching Netbeans 6.7

2009-08-08 Thread Ivan Noris
Dennis,

what version of Java are you using for Netbeans? My issue
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406324 with Netbeans (6.5) and Thunderbird
(with Lightning extension) was similar and seems to be fixed when using JDK 6
from Ubuntu 9.04 repo. (Before, I was using JDK 5 from Ubuntu 9.04 repo).

[Bug 406324] Re: thunderbird-bin crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp() when using lightning-extension and clipboard contains formatted (rich) text

2009-08-07 Thread Ivan Noris
Well, good news. I've upgraded my Java to JDK 1.6 (Java: 1.6.0_15; Java
HotSpot(TM) Client VM 14.1-b02 - non-ubuntu-package). Currently, the
problem does NOT appear! I will test it deeply though.

2009-08-07 Thread Ivan Noris
I have installed binary Java 6 distribution from java.sun.com.

Right now I'm trying the Ubuntu package for Sun Java 6.
apt-cache policy sun-java6-jdk

 6-13-1 0
500 http://ftp.energotel.sk jaunty/multiverse Packages

Seems to fix the problem.

[Bug 406324] Re: thunderbird-bin crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp() when using lightning-extension and clipboard contains formatted (rich) text

2009-08-05 Thread Ivan Noris
John,

as I've already said, I couldn't reproduce the problem when Netbeans is
not running. Only if it's running and clipboard contains rich text (XML,
formatted, possibly with colors). And, if I start Thunderbird without
extensions (safe-mode), it does not crash.

I cannot uninstall Netbeans as I need it for projects.

Are there any TB+Netbeans -related known issues where to start? Some
workarounds?

Thanks.

[Bug 199088] Re: [Hardy] Message: Suspend Problem. Your computer failed to suspend

2008-05-23 Thread Ivan Noris
Confirming the long sleep time factor too. If I suspend my notebook
for the night, I always get the error message, but everything works. If
I suspend my notebook only for a couple of minutes (or an hour or so)
when travelling between my office and home, no message, no problem.

[Bug 157691] Re: Hardy/Gutsy crashes when the lid is closed on a HP 6710b, HP 6510b and HP 2510p

2008-05-20 Thread Ivan Noris
Hmm.

Last time I rebooted, my own patch was not working.
I realized that I need to run /etc/init.d/hotkey-setup start AFTER I log into
GNOME. So I added the script to my session.

I don't really understand this :-(

[Bug 199088] Re: [Hardy] Message: Suspend Problem. Your computer failed to suspend

2008-04-28 Thread Ivan Noris
Hi,

this has just happened to me for the first time. Since Thursday, I used
to suspend my Thinkpad R60e at least once a day. Yesterday I suspended
it too, everything worked, but now after I have switched it on, gnome-
power-manager gave me that error.

Everything seems to be working just as before, just the message is new
to me.

Ubuntu Hardy 8.04, Thinkpad R60e, using suspend to memory launched via
Fn+F4.

[Bug 157691] Re: Hardy/Gutsy crashes when the lid is closed on a HP 6710b, HP 6510b and HP 2510p (and Thinkpad R60e)

2008-04-28 Thread Ivan Noris
Hmm.

After a few days (actually, from the release date of Hardy) I've
searched for this solution. I'm using Thinkpad R60e with Intel
Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics
Controller (rev 03). Closing the laptop lid was a disaster for me until
today.

According to the comments here I realized that /etc/init.d/hotkey-setup
needs to be updated for me to use i810 string rather than intel.
(One-line patch).

Attaching diff, if someone's interested. Strange that I have found
nothing related to Thinkpads :(
