[Bug 627862] Re: USB Mouse freezes randomly but consistently

2012-03-25 Thread Jack Knight
After a lot of experimenting I found that using just "noirqbalance" in
the boot params worked 3.0.x kernel, also with USB set to "high speed"
in bios.

[Bug 627862] Re: USB Mouse freezes randomly but consistently

2012-02-17 Thread Jack Knight
Still having an issue like this on SN78SH7 Mobo with AMD Phemon triple
core, regardless of kernel - been happening since 2009 and is still
happening.

Key criteria:

USB devices connected, even only a hub with no other devices chained off it
BIOS - USB setting for HIGH SPEED enabled - if you set it to LOW/NORMAL (still
USB2) kernel boots and recognises 3 cores, mostly but not all the time.

If I set USB to HIGH SPEED in bios, only 1 core of the 3 is ever
recognised - even if no USB devices plugged.

[Bug 195982] Re: Shift key (and caps lock) stop working when using VMWare

2008-07-30 Thread Jack Knight
None of the workarounds mentioned here or in the direct links worked for
me. However the script in this thread:

http://communities.vmware.com/message/1006547#1006547

did give me a workaround. I didn't put it in a cron job like the author
suggested, but just made a panel shortcut.
