That option only affects the window manager metacity. Unfortunately, Unity or mutter are not supported by gnome-color-chooser. It's caused by some typo in GNOME Color Chooser 0.2.4 (click this link for more details: http://gnomecc.sourceforge.net/forum/index.php?topic=19.msg46#msg46 ). Until Ubuntu syncs with the latest Debian version of the gnome-color-chooser package, you can use my PPA, which contains GNOME Color Chooser 0.2.5 (only). Hi, coz! Are you sure you installed gnome-color-chooser from the official hardy repository? It uses the same prefix as the gtk-engines package ( --prefix=/usr ) so you don't need any symlinks. If not, please purge your current install, and just do an apt-get install gnome-color-chooser (assuming you're only using official Ubuntu Hardy repositories, of course). Hi! That's a GNOME bug: the one-part GNOME menue uses the three-part menue (apps, system, places) and its style options. It's unlikely to be fixed as a new GNOME menue is in work and will probably be released with GNOME 2.22. But if someone wants to hack in, a fix for 2.20.1 would be possible.
