[Bug 348260] [NEW] dpkg causes kernel oops and leads to a GP fault
Public bug reported: This is probably mis-categorized, but my xubuntu 8.10 (64 bit) fully updated system has been crashing about once a day. I haven't been able to figure out why, but 3 times now it's been related to dpkg, when it crashes dpkg, and slowly kills the system (my music plays for a few minutes, but programs are unresponsive, etc...). I am forced to do a hard reboot. uname -a: Linux catty 2.6.27-11-generic #1 SMP Thu Jan 29 19:28:32 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 8.10 Release:8.10 ** Affects: dpkg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- dpkg causes kernel oops and leads to a GP fault https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/348260 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 161047] Re: ssh server forces a command when it should not
If I understand correctly your problem, I think you can use the ssh_config setting 'PreferredAuthentications while using ssh (ssh -o PreferredAuthentications password) to have it prefer the password over the key when you don't want it to use the key. Another option is to disable the ssh-agent bg process which caches your keys and will use them automatically, if this is disabled, then I'm pretty sure you'll need to explicitly set the key with the -i command. Hope this helps. -- ssh server forces a command when it should not https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/161047 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I did indeed, hence the link to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/140508, but I wasn't sure if it was the same root cause. Either way, the fact that logprof doesn't work either should be added to the bug. -- Profile violations fail to log correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157952 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 157952] Re: Profile violations fail to log correctly
Here is my pidgin profile, though regardless of what application violates it's profile, none of the messages get logged properly. I used genprof to make the profile, and I get a violation every time I try to save or send files (which violates my profile) JT ** Attachment added: "My pidgin profile" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10238709/usr.bin.pidgin -- Profile violations fail to log correctly https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/157952 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 157952] Profile violations fail to log correctly
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: apparmor When an application violates it's profile, it shows up in dmesg like so: ... [30372.184000] audit(1193544332.481:7415): type=1502 operation="inode_permission" requested_mask="r" denied_mask="r" name=2F686F6D652F72616E6F6B2F486F6D65776F726B2F53656E696F722045786869626974696F6E2F574150532F53656E696F7245782E706466 pid=6496 profile="/usr/bin/pidgin" ... However, when I cat /var/log/messages, all that shows up is: ... Oct 27 22:59:55 localhost -- MARK -- ... This causes logprof to fail to read, thus making it impossible to easily configure my profiles. I'm running a fully updated version of Gutsy: Linux nebula 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux This recently started not working, so I'm thinking it's related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apparmor/+bug/140508 however, this is slightly different, and might not have the same root cause. [Bug 139084] Re: Unsafe removal of drives says to "Eject" while context menu says "Unmount"
I went through the Nautilus localization for both en_GB and en_CA and changed the msgstr from "_Unmount" to "_Eject" for both under the tree-view. I left the msguid alone, thinking that that would mess things up. This patch is probably not helpful, but if you have any advice for future reference, I'd be happy to hear it.
