I downgraded to nvidia-current_290.10-0ubuntu2 and still had the session restart issue, (Screen goes black for a second and I'm made to relog in). My logs also show this as a segfault that some users have reported. Public bug reported: Selected text is displayed as white on a white background. Steps to reproduce: 1. Tested with up-to-date Kubuntu 12.04 amd64 2. Install gedit 3. Type and then select some text Switching to an alternative GTK+ style (e.g. Rayleigh) resolves the issue.
