[Bug 1270599] Re: undefined reference to symbol 'archive_entry_size'

2014-04-01 Thread James Michael DuPont
I have a solution for this,
first I built the lib archive
 g...@github.com:sonar-gnu-linux/libarchive.git

and then I build the pacman, with one patch to the makefile,
https://github.com/h4ck3rm1k3/pacman/commit/ae6ba2481ce5ad7b38955c04a607c04aa5554ca4

Did not test again with the standard libarchive

MSN user name change to often causes msg box overflow and kills client

Status in “pidgin” package in Ubuntu:
   New

 Bug description:
   Binary package hint: pidgin

If the MSN user changes its name too often, then
there is an error msg that shows up, it does not say which user, just that
 it was too often.
If the name continues to change too often, there will be hundreds of such
 boxes open.
this is a form of an attack, and can kill the client process and block then
 entire session.

Re: [Bug 982548] Re: When I render two files from osm data, both have the same image

2012-04-17 Thread James Michael DuPont
Sorry for the noise,
reported in on launchpad because am using the launchpad version of the
package, it seems to be out of date.

installed the package via apt-get install and bug reporting for those
package is via apport-cli, I thought it might help someone if they
encounter the same issue.

thanks for your help,

mike

Why are you reporting this on launchpad? This is a Mapnik bug, not a

Re: [Bug 509061] Re: packaging of webkitimageqt

2010-12-17 Thread James Michael DuPont
I dont use bing. This is needed for custom WMS layers.
If there is an alternative package, then update the osm docs.
Why do we need kde when we have gnome?
That is not the question why does it take one more than one year for a
package to be integrated?
Whatever you do, please make sure that people who follow the osm
instructions know what to do to use custom wms layers.
Also for the balkans, the yahoo images are better than bing, bing is useless
there.
thanks,
mike

 Why is this still needed?

First of all, Yahoo Imagery is more or less obsolete since we can trace
from Bing aerial imagery, which has better coverage and resolution at
most places. Second you can install gnome-web-photo_0.3-0ubuntu2 instead
and it works the same way. (Yes, you need to downgrade to the version
from Intrepid, newer versions do not work with josm, see
 http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/JOSM/Plugins/WMSPlugin.)

(Typo by OP: this is for wmsplugin/imagery (which is no longer a plugin)
and not for validator (also not a plugin any more).)

Standard wms and tms work out of the box, this is only required for the
html:http://...; kind of imagery source (e.g. yahoo).

that is new to me, maybe josm has improved.
What about landsat.
warper.geothings.net works ?

If there is an alternative package, then update the osm docs.

What's wrong with the docs at
 http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/JOSM/Plugins/WMSPlugin ?

have not looked in a while.

Why do we need kde when we have gnome?

webkitimageqt and gnome-web-photo fulfil exactly the same task in this
case: load a url, render the content and output it in image format. If
there is any practical difference, you should point it out.

ok, well at the time the qt was easier to use. if the gnome is packaged and
works then fine.

That is not the question why does it take one more than one year for a

 (not responsible for this)

Whatever you do, please make sure that people who follow the osm
instructions know what to do to use custom wms layers.

What do you mean by that? Where is the documentation lacking?

Well at the time the osm docs talked about compiling things yourself etc, I
have not looked in a long time.

Also for the balkans, the yahoo images are better than bing, bing is

 there.

Can you point me to a location?

I guess I am totally out of date. Thanks for the info.
If there is good alternatives, then fine. I dont care, it served its purpose
at the time.

[Bug 506728] Re: Gcc Segfaults on GCH compile

2010-01-12 Thread James Michael DuPont
The problem i am having is with pch,

I would like to compile a bunch of templates using pch.
I have refactored the includes so that they all use stdinc.h
this works on its own, to compile stdinc.h, but when someone uses it to define
themselves,
i get a class defined already error, so I remove that for layer.h and used the
existing files,
now it segfaults.

I have prepared the files here:
They are now in the right format, the directory structure meets that of the POT
files.
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~albania/shqipoffice/pofiles-3.1/revision/2

They are queued for importing here :

you can get the lastest version of the po files here:
https://code.launchpad.net/~albania/shqipoffice/pofiles-3.1

Here is the perl script to merge the PO files:

subject Open Office Albanian PO files for 3.1 ready for import
mailed-by googlemail.com

hide details 3:15 PM (4 minutes ago)

Hi all,
I have been able to transform the OOO 2.0 Albanian PO source code
files into 3.1 templates in one big file weeks ago.
now I have written a perl script that will transform those results and
merge them with the 3.1 templates.
The results should be ready for usage by openoffice.org.
they are all checked in here :

Just run this command to import the files
bzr branch lp:shqipoffice

I can send you a tar file if you like with the results. Also it will
not be a problem to renamed or change these files now.

They are now in the right format, the directory structure meets that
of the POT files.

mike

[Bug 267332] Re: [needs-packaging] osmosis openstreetmap planet utility

2009-07-21 Thread James Michael DuPont
I second this.
The official repository for Osmosis is down, out of bandwidth.
http://gweb.bretth.com/osmosis-latest.tar.gz

The bandwidth or page view limit for this site has been exceeded and the
page cannot be viewed at this time. Once
the site is below the limit, it will once again begin serving as normal.

I have setup a ppa for this,
https://launchpad.net/~jamesmikedupont/+archive/ppa

Hope to find time to package this.
thanks,
mike

[Bug 396370] Re: Installing Albanian version of Ubuntu 9.04, mistakenly installed English Firefox and English OOO

2009-07-19 Thread James Michael DuPont
Translation :
This is more related to those who prepare the packages to put on DVD or CD with
Firefox and the problem that appears only in English and reported the Ubuntu
users in other languages. The solution to this found in Synaptics Package
Manager, where you can download Albanian Language Pack for Firefox. As for
OpenOffice.Org is continuing work on the translation of the various packages
that comprise it in Albanian language.
