[Bug 1877576] [NEW] Grub Installation failure during fresh Ubuntu 20.04 install
Public bug reported: During vanilla install of Ubuntu 20.04, the installer says grub- installed failed to install grub onto the partition. System was previouslly booting PopOS 18.04 without issue. What I expected to happen: Ubuntu 20.04 and grub to be installed without issue What happened instead: Ubuntu was installed, but grub didn't install into the EFI partition (presumably because it couldn't find it?) [Bug 240308] [NEW] File roller launches wrong program to handle some HTML files
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: file-roller Opening a HTML document within an archive that contains a space in its name results in Thunderbird being launched instead of Firefox. This is using version 2.22.3 of File Roller and Ubuntu 8.04. I've had this bug for ages but I've finally decided to report it to see if it is just me or a more widespread problem. This happens regardless of if the file has the htm or html extension. It behaves correctly if the HTML file has no spaces. Steps to reproduce: 1) Download the attached archive. 2) Double click on "Test Page.htm" or "Test Page.html" within the archive. Expected to happen: Firefox to launch or the page to open in an existing Firefox window as a tab. What happened: Thunderbird is launched with a big blank space where there should be Thunderbird tasks page. If Thunderbird is active nothing happens at all. ** Affects: file-roller (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- File roller launches wrong program to handle some HTML files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/240308 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 133274] totem crashes system with a high pitched noise
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem Hello! I've seem to got a problem with my totem movie player. While watching videos totem sometimes freezes with a high pitched noise and freezes the whole system with it. I'm using Totem Movie Player 2.18.1 with the xine back end (1.1.4). I've had it happen when watching films from dvds and from the internet. When it crashes seems to be random, I've had it happen just as it starts playing, another time 16 minutes into a video. I know this isn't very helpful without some extended infomation but being new to Linux I have no idea where to find crash logs. ** Affects: totem (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- totem crashes system with a high pitched noise https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/133274 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
