[Bug 636195] Re: Autofs for LDAP doesn't contain ldif file

2011-04-07 Thread Jamie Brewer
After much hair-pulling (mostly because the documentation is sketchy at
best, partly because I'm a LDAP noob), am able to confirm that the
posted LDIF works. That said, in the process I found that there are the
two alternate schema options for ldap automount trees - one that's
apparently NIS based, and one that uses automountKey and
automountMapName instead of ou and cn. Is the schema provided indeed
the most up to date general use schema?

** Changed in: autofs5 (Ubuntu)
   Status: New = Confirmed

[Bug 636195] Re: Autofs for LDAP doesn't contain ldif file

2011-03-25 Thread Jamie Brewer
Re-opening this because the info asked for was provided but the auto-
close got it.

I'm trying to get automount going on a test server with the provided
ldif schema, currently. will report back.

[Bug 329067] Re: Cannot change password on ldap client unless libpam-cracklib also installed

2010-12-10 Thread Jamie Brewer
Requiring libpam-cracklib is unnecessary - all that would really need to
happen is change pam-auth-update to write /etc/pam.d/common-password
with try_authtok instead of use_authtok when it's enabling ldap. (Wiser
and more experienced heads than I should test that for other issues but
I haven't found any.)Commenting in hopes this gets bumped up the
priority list because I was fighting with this for about a week before I
had enough information to narrow down the Google results sufficiently.
