[Bug 1246732] Re: Access denied to web frontend resources

2013-11-07 Thread Jan Schneider
And just for the record: the reason why the default configuration doesn't work,
is that the most recent Ubuntu versions ship with Apache 2.4 and it new
authorization model. Even though mod_access_compat is enabled, the Order/Allow
directives don't work, because the base Apache configuration in Ubuntu uses
Require. Obviously one cannot override the new directives with the old ones,
despite the compatibility module.
Workaround: comment out the Directory / stanza in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf.

[Bug 1246732] Re: Access denied to web frontend resources

2013-11-04 Thread Jan Schneider
It *is* a bug in the sogo package, because this is the standard Apache
configuration that ships with Ubuntu. If sogo doesn't work with it out
of the box, it *has* to provide an Apache configuration stanza.

[Bug 1246732] [NEW] Access denied to web frontend resources

2013-10-31 Thread Jan Schneider
Public bug reported:

Any access to CSS or JS files of the web frontend results in:

You don't have permission to access
/SOGo.woa/WebServerResources/generic.css on this server.

in the browser and:

[Thu Oct 31 14:33:45.610031 2013] [authz_core:error] [pid 7022] [client
192.168.60.175:54188] AH01630: client denied by server configuration:
/usr/lib/GNUstep/SOGo/WebServerResources/generic.css

in the apache logs.

I had to manually copy /usr/share/doc/sogo/apache.conf to /etc/apache2
/conf-available/sogo.conf because the package doesn't install a working
apache configuration at all.

[Bug 1096252] Re: Should display local times

2013-02-07 Thread Jan Schneider
This patch changes the date and time format to really use the locale's
format. For some reason, the script still doesn't pick up LC_TIME but
uses the C locale for formatting. Not sure why this is happening.

[Bug 873984] Re: mod_tls and mod_sftp complain about OpenSSL version mismatch

2012-01-05 Thread Jan Schneider
Stefano: I'm not sure if ignoring is a good thing SSL related. It might be
harmless, but the user doesn't necessarily know if there are any security
implications. I wouldn't trust a security feature of a software that only
starts with a warning.
Mahyuddin: Yes, but as Stefano pointed out, this is not really what this bug
report is about.

Yes, it still working. I came across this message while finding out why
proftpd didn't start (reference to mod_vroot that doesn't exist anymore)
and first thought this would have kept it from starting.

I still think a rebuild should be done because:
- that message that shows up on each startup is at least confusing
- i didn't test ssl functionality yet, i only checked if startup works

[Bug 706362] [NEW] update-motd.d script prevents updating motd

2011-01-22 Thread Jan Schneider
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mythtv-status

Due to bug #661654, update-motd doesn't finish updating /var/run/motd if
one of the scripts in /etc/update-motd.d doesn't exit with zero. Whether
this is a bug or not has to be decided elsewhere. But the update-motd
script of mythtv-status shouldn't exit with anything else but zero
anyway. A simple exit 0 at the bottom of /etc/update-motd.d/50-mythtv-
status fixes updating the motd for me.

[Bug 496640] [NEW] iwlagn WLAN no longer works after upgrade to 2.6.31-17

2009-12-14 Thread Jan Schneider
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to 2.6.31-17, WLAN connections via the iwlagn chipset/driver
don't work anymore. The wlan card is still detected, but no APs are detected
anymore.
It's not a coincidental hardware problem, because it still works when booting
into Windows. Trying to boot into 2.6.31-16 from the grub menu still doesn't
restore the functionality though.

[Bug 403610] Re: kde 4.3 Multiple Monitors tells lies

2009-11-10 Thread Jan Schneider
As a workaround, I use ARandR which works perfectly fine, including
drag'n'drop of monitor positions, and the ability to save monitor
schemes, that you can later load from .bashrc or .profile.

[Bug 472509] [NEW] Notification icon doesn't disappear

2009-11-03 Thread Jan Schneider
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

With the KDE version of Jaunty, the notification icon in the systray
disappeared when there wasn't any notification, or all notifications
have been explicitly close. Now, with Karmic, the icon stays there and
is just greyed-out. I'm not sure if this is a bug or the intended
behavior, but it wastes screen estate in any case.

[Bug 472518] [NEW] Update notification disappears immediately

2009-11-03 Thread Jan Schneider
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

The icon that should notify me about available updates in the
notification area, only flashes shortly for a fracture of a second and
disappears immediately. Not that I would be surprised, but I thought
that one of the Kubuntu Karmic features was an improved KPackageKit.
Actually it got worse because now I don't even know when I have to fire
aptitude. Beside that KPackageKit still doesn't show changelogs. Again,
not a surprise.
