[Bug 478144] Re: kcm-gtk settings file is deleted after logout

2009-11-09 Thread Jan Včelák
Sorry for misleading. After logout, the file is still there. But when I
log in, it just disappears - I really suspect kcm-gtk.

[Bug 478144] Re: kcm-gtk settings file is deleted after logout

2009-11-09 Thread Jan Včelák
No, gtk-qt-engine is not installed. However I had used it before it was
replaced by kcm-gtk. It seems it is completely purged from my system
now.

But you are right! startkde script removes my file (lines 189-218).
It's owned by kdebase-workspace-bin - apparently it's not kcm-gtk bug.
Thank you very much. :-)

[Bug 478144] [NEW] kcm-gtk settings file is deleted after logout

2009-11-08 Thread Jan Včelák
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kcm-gtk

kcm-gtk settings is not persistent. After logging in, the
~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4 file is missing. I have to open GTK+ Appearance in
systemsettings and select the correct Widget style. The file is created
after this.

However, the next time when I log in, the file is missing again.

[Bug 447947] [NEW] system hangs on startup

2009-10-10 Thread Jan Včelák
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: mountall

After upgrading mountall to version 0.21 my system hangs immediately
after loading kernel with this message:

EXT4-fs: mballoc enabled
EXT4-fs: (sda1): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode
VFS: Mounted root (ext4 filesystem) readonly on device 8:1.
Freeing unused kernel memory: 464k freed
Write protecting the kernel read-only data: 4104k
mountall: /proc/filesystems: No such file or directory
init: mountall main process (1030) killed by SEGV signal
rm: cannot remove '/forcefsck': Read-only file system
init: mountall post-stop process (1031) terminated with status 1

I rebooted and appended init=/bin/bash to kernel parameters. There was
no /forcefsck file present. In spite of that I run fsck -f /dev/sda1
but no problem was found. After next reboot the same information
appeared again system hanged again.

I rebooted again with 'init=/bin/bash', downloaded
mountall_0.1.8_amd64.deb from repository FTP and installed it. After
reboot everything works well.

[Bug 447947] Re: mountall: /proc/filesystems: No such file or directory

2009-10-10 Thread Jan Včelák
Scott, I went trough reported bugs before reporting this one and I think
this is another problem. But maybe I'm wrong.

As for the initramfs: No, you aren't right. I have self compiled kernel
(2.6.31.1) and don't use initramfs. The only change I made was
downgrading the mountall package from 0.2.1 to 0.1.8.

Are you sure it has nothing to do with Robert's SEGV? It seems similar
to me.

Thanks

Jan

[Bug 426827] Re: krusader crashes on startup

2009-09-29 Thread Jan Včelák
I removed ~/.kde/share/config/krusaderrc and segfaults are gone. But I
think this should not happen after upgrade. Unfortunatelly I don't have
backup of that krusaderrc to reproduce the problem again.

[Bug 257027] Re: incorrect channel mapping for surround 5.1 on ICH5

2008-09-26 Thread Jan Včelák
Yes, that's true - I can use my customized asoundrc. I'm quite
experienced user. But not everybody is.

I think it should be solved in default configuration for everybody. I
like thinks running out of the box. I suppose I'm not the only one
with this sound card.

[Bug 257027] [NEW] incorrect channel mapping for surround 5.1 on ICH5

2008-08-11 Thread Jan Včelák
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libasound2

I found out, that 5.1 surround sound from my audio card is somehow
weird.

Using speaker-test -D plug:surround51 -c 6 -t wav I came to a
conclusion, that it's like the yellow and black jacks in my soundcard
are swapped. But they aren't. speaker-test probing 4.0 sound was ok - so
this is another proof.

Finally I found two configuration files:
(1) /usr/share/alsa/cards/ICH.conf
(2) /usr/share/alsa/cards/ICH4.conf

The first file concerns ICH, ICH2 and ICH3 chipsets. In
ICH.pcm.surround51.0 section the channels are remapped. It virtually
swaps the yellow and black jack.

The second one concerns ICH4, ICH5 and ICH6. But there is no channel
remapping. I added it and it works!

Is there anyone with newer ICHs with the same problem?
