[Bug 1912960] Re: kcryptd, big file copy, system became unresponsive
Finally I did: - get new 2TB M2 SSD - install fresh ubuntu 20.04 (1TB not crypted for system, 1TB crypted) - no issues with crypted partition After that don't have this problem. So, possible issue was: - smth wrong when upgrade from 18.04 -> 20.04 - my old m2 SSD (512GB) - or combination2 I think we can close this one. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1912960 Title: kcryptd, big file copy, system became unresponsive To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1912960/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1912960] Re: kcryptd, big file copy, system became unresponsive
Same problems with 5.11rc4 - seems like linux kernel issue when dm-crypt used. I suspect because of best performance. But in my case, and probably most GUI users, disk performance isn't most important. Today it is funny, can't run compilation in case I know will have Teams telco soon :) Do we know which linux mailing group handle dm-crypt issues?

[Bug 1747899] [NEW] RE: Ubuntu 17.10 - portrait monitor showing extra arrow
Public bug reported: I recently hooked-up a second monitor to an Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 1060. When I am using my primary monitor, the secondary monitor shows the cursor as well. My monitor setup: Left monitor portrait 1200x1920 (secondary) Right monitor landscape __ 1920x1200 (primary) with the Ubuntu desktop. In particular, when my cursor is in the top-left 1/6th of the primary landscape monitor, I see the cursor in the bottom-left 1/6th of my secondary portrait monitor. But, if I am in that same bottom-left 1/6th of the secondary portrait monitor, I do not see it in the primary landscape monitor. Additional information: - I have already tried using the proprietary and Nouveau open-source driver, and this unfortunately did not solve the issue, - when the portrait secondary monitor is on the right this problem does not occur, Work around: - switching from Wayland back to XOrg worked, so I guess its something to do with Wayland specifically. Shortly- the biggest bug is 'Ubuntu Units Policy' itself. In past 3 years it wasn't apply in full properly in any distro. Also,up to today, still plenty of software do not apply this policy. And there is no sign for change. And most important- the standard for units use by OS's is still held by M$ (who got over 90% personal computers market)-not by any other body.If Ubuntu wants to keep standards- OK, but do it once and proper-without confusing users(mostly reverting from M$). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/848529 Title: Choose between binary prefixes and SI unit prefixes, and use them consistently To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntuone-client/+bug/848529/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 947495] [NEW] ia32-libs does not depend on libxtst6:i386
Public bug reported: ia32-libs package found in Oneiric and earlier Ubuntu versions contains libxtst6. In Precise, ia32-libs depends on multi-arch versions of libraries, but libxtst6 is not among them. [Bug 525154] Re: mountall for /var races with rpc.statd
well restarting portmap and nfs helped, and i don't want now to revert back to faulty config. i was getting this mesage when booting my diskless workstations: mount.nfs: rpc.statd is not running but is required for remote locking. Either use '-o nolocks' to keep locks local, or start statd. /root was mounted OK of course, because if not, it wouldn't boot at all - problem was with /home and other directories mounted by mountall init scripts - after complete boot, in gdm, there was no /home , i had to once again invoke mount -a (when gdm was running) - i solved it by using rc.local dirty solution ;) portmap and nfs services were starting, but this error message was showing up anyway thanks to this thread i found out, that maybe starting statd was racing with mounting /var by nfs in read write mode or something like this, so i thought that restarting portmap and nfs services in single user mode, before any extra NFS shares are mounted (/home) will solve the problem, and it works fine now. no error messages during boot process. i don't really know if it qualifies for new bug or not. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525154 Title: mountall for /var races with rpc.statd -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 603536] Re: [Lucid] saa7134_alsa kernel module for TV cards broken?
solution (that's work for me): you need Live CD with 10.04.1 start computer with this Live CD,on first screen pres esc to get options, then F6 to get other option. Here check nomodeset/use arrows, then enter to mark, then esc to exit and enter to start boot/ and run Live CD.After boot check at sound preferences if your card with saa7124 chip is present (better is to use alsamixer in terminal). If all is OK you need to do fresh install with nomodeset options enabled. Also, after install, I suppose to enable proposed repositories to get latest kernel 2.6.32-25,which works more stable for me (I'm getting also big problem with hda-intel codec). [Bug 251107] Re: [Intrepid] nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: AllocateScreenPrivateIndex
problem with any nvidia drivers starting from 'displayconfig-gtk' package, which is not included in 8.10 distribution!/was in 8.04/.What I've done: in time upgrading from 8.04,after completing instalation, instaler ask if you what to keep some no more need packages.I've foud 'displayconfig-gtk' and check for keep it.After reboot I run: programs-other-screensgraphics find my monitor and set correct resolution,on graphic card I've already got my card and nv driver/only available at this moment/.Then I've pick up awailable updates. Now run drivers applet-I've see two awailable for my card drivers/one 'recommended'/,choise install 'recommended'-reboot system. Now I've got NVIDIA X Server settings fully working!/at programs-other-screensgraphics new nvidia driver appear/ my card Nvidia FX5700VE,driver nvidia-glx-173 Driver installation without keeppinng 'displayconfig-gtk' - I've got NVIDIA X Server settings intalled, but max resolution WAS 640x320!! This way I've check on two different computers ant cards/second one TNT2 with 32MB memory/ If you not have 'displayconfig-gtk' than mayby that is any way to install it from deb repozytorys, but I'm not try this way.Exclusion 'displayconfig-gtk' from 8.10 doing that in Live session no possibility to change screen resolution suitable for monitor and friendle work. -- [Intrepid] nvidia_drv.so: undefined symbol: AllocateScreenPrivateIndex https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/251107 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
