[Bug 1353468] Re: Scheduled backup without user logged in

2014-08-07 Thread Jean-Peer Lorenz
Thank you for using sbackup and reporting this issue.

It is a kind-of bug: sbackup uses GIO/GVFS as default backend to
access remote location e.g. over FTP. The gvfs-daemon, in turn, is
started via Dbus on user login, so it is not running without user
session. For reference see
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1924017 Gvfs exports dbus
services and thus should be actually started by dbus (see
http://superuser.com/questions/228261/how-to-properly-start-gvfs-
without-gnome)

As a workaround I suggest to use the FUSE backend implemented in
sbackup. Please follow the instructions at
https://answers.launchpad.net/sbackup/+faq/1326 to enable the FUSE
backend.

HTH!

[Bug 1181056] Re: TypeError: coercing to Unicode: need string or buffer, NoneType found

2014-03-03 Thread Jean-Peer Lorenz
Thank you for your interest and care in sbackup. Please note that
sbackup is not abondonware but FOSS and always in the need of help from
its users, contributors etc. Often there is a lack of time due to jobs
and real life. I'm sure you do understand.

Currently, I'm waiting for FFe and sponsoring to get 0.11.6 into
Trusty's archive. Feel free to comment on LP: #1286532 in order to
emphasize the urge for getting this version into the next Ubuntu LTS.

Thank you for your understanding. Any help in the form of packaging and
uploading, bug triaging, documentation, patches and so on is welcome and
highly appreciated. Just get in touch if you have resources available.
I'd be very happy.

Best regards,
Jean-Peer

[Bug 796234] Re: Segmentation fault on start

2011-06-29 Thread Jean-Peer Lorenz
The package didn't removed some links it had created on installation.
And apparently this leads liferea to segfault. So, this bug are actually
two:

1. Liferea shouldn't segfault (silently) just because some icons are not
available.
2. faenza-extras is broken/contains packaging errors.

Somebody out there who wants to file bugs in their appropriate places?

[Bug 732093] Re: Sbackup doesn't know what to do if external drive is not connected

2011-03-29 Thread Jean-Peer Lorenz
Thank you for choosing sbackup and reporting this issue. The problem
that you describe is fixed in sbackup's latest release 0.11.4. Please
consider to upgrade sbackup (e.g. by using our PPA at
https://edge.launchpad.net/~nssbackup-team/+archive/ppa). Moreover,
there is a feature request for improved behaviour of the config gui
while an previously specified target is not present (see
https://bugs.launchpad.net/sbackup/+bug/622496). However, this won't fix
in current releases.

I'm closing this bug because a fix was released and won't get
incorporated in current series.

P.S.: Please include information about versions of your OS, the faulty
program etc. when filing a bug report. Thanks.

   Status: New = Fix Released
