[Bug 91210] Re: Error during burning iso image on DVD+R
For what it's worth I have found from experience that this problem tends to be load related and affects both K3B and Brasero. For some reason neither of them are getting the priority they need when burning while the system is too heavily loaded. For example I used to have this regularly happen with K3B on a dual core 64bit 2.0Ghz processor. I was running fold...@home (which took one of the cores completely), Azureus and a lot of other light weight services like MPD and apache2 and samba. Once I turned off fold...@home it stopped happening. Is there something that can be done to up the scheduling priority for burning programs? -- Error during burning iso image on DVD+R https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/91210 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 301189] Re: Vuze's updater will not upgrade to 4.0.0.4
As already stated several times, completely disabling the built in updater is not really a sensible solution. If your definitive answer is to not use the package manager version if you want auto updates, then you really need to think about what package management is meant to do. The whole reason for package management is so that you know what is installed where and how, so that you can keep track of the hundreds of things installed. If you are honestly recommending not using the package manager version then you're making peoples lives unnecessarily hard. Why should I have to remember which programs need to be manually looked after because the package manager version is pointlessly crippled. -- Vuze's updater will not upgrade to 4.0.0.4 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/301189 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 295601] Re: Ndiswrapper broken with 8.10 Intrepid
I also had this problem and in the end gave up, because upgrading to Intrepid killed my sound, wireless network and graphics drivers and I spent hours trying to fix them. I ended up re-installing the entire thing fresh and found that ndiswrapper worked more smoothly than it ever has before. Clearly something is going very wrong in the upgrade process. -- Ndiswrapper broken with 8.10 Intrepid https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/295601 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 288626] Re: Solution Found: Failed to Initiate NVIDIA graphics device on Intrepid Ibex
I spent HOURS working on this, doing all the various guides, uninstalling, reinstalling and purging everything more times than I can count. I tried using envy, using my old configs from before the upgrade and so many more things. In the end I did a clean install (because there were many many hardware problems on the upgrade to intrepid and it worked flawlessly. I suspect anyone who has this problem has like me upgraded from 8.04 and possibly even earlier. Something from one of these previous versions is hanging around, causing problems, but I have no idea what. -- Solution Found: Failed to Initiate NVIDIA graphics device on Intrepid Ibex https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/288626 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 49127] Re: Long file names are truncated without warning
Just confirming that while there is a dialog telling you that filenames are too long, it won't tell you which filenames are too long and magically helps you. I also want to second the comment about it truncating filenames that are too short (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus-cd- burner/+bug/49127/comments/4), for anyone burning disks of photos that use filenames as descripters, 64 characters is really not enough. K3B doesn't have this problem (but then I can't burn an entire disk with it because it crashes midway through taking my entire XFS partition with it until I reboot). -- Long file names are truncated without warning https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/49127 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
