[Bug 1435576] [NEW] Date Created Should be Based on File Date Created Not Date Added to Library
Public bug reported: When you create a smart playlist and one of the criteria is based on date created - it bases it on the date the file is added to your library instead of the date that the file was actually created (based on the file properties). This is a big issue if you're trying to create a smart playlist and you do a full update to your library as all files are then created again in your library. To Reproduce: 1. Open clementine; 2. Create new smart playlist; 3. Make one criteria based on date created (say for last 7 days); Observe: look at how many files are there 4. No do a complete rescan of your library 5. Look at how many files are now in your playlist To say the least date created is misleading as it implies when the file was created not when it was added to the Clementine library. For people adding files routinely and routinely doing full rescans (yes I know you can watch your library folders), this issue makes the smart playlists based on date created (e.g., date added to library) not entirely useful nor intuitive. [Bug 1199877] Re: unity-panel-service memory leak and 100% CPU usage
Just to add another finding - trying to avoid repeating what has already been said. This bug is 100% reproducible for me after a suspend on my laptop. No need to apologize! We're trying to keep our minds open to ideas. Can I ask a stupid American question, with Linux, do you need ibus to use Arabic (or other languages that use CTL)? If so, maybe we can do some kind of check with ibus and languages. [Bug 908335] Re: Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often
Thanks Danny for taking care of this. I ended up being voluntold to work the weekend so I didn't get any time to install Ubuntu and do the testing. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/908335 Title: Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/908335/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 908335] Re: Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often
I left Ubuntu some time ago and haven't seen the problem with my current distro. I'm only running 3.0.0-12 though so not sure if I'd see the problem if I put in 3.2. I'm willing to test it out if Danny is uncomfortable with trying it, it'll just take me a couple days to get a test machine up and running -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/908335 Title: Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/908335/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 908335] Re: Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often
This is the place to report and it's out of my control (or yours) to escalate, that's up to the developers to decide importance. I'm no longer using Ubuntu, I left it about 4 months ago for a branch of it (Bodhi Linux) which I've been quite happy with. Have you also tried downgrading your kernel? If there is no reason to upgrade (ie. the new one supports your hardware better) there isn't any harm done going back to an older kernel. As I've moved away from ubuntu which is all about cutting edge, many developers think if it's not broken, don't upgrade. With this philosophy in mind I now have two installs, one really basic one that I keep up to date for testing the other stable which I only upgrade after the test version has worked well for 1-2 months doing normal day to day stuff. I do think you should try 12.04, maybe it's a X problem which will be upgraded in 12.04, or a video driver issue which maybe was solved in 12.04. I think that the main issue is that as it gets so close to release of a new LTS they're probably focusing on this instead of looking at bugs on older releases (just a guess) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/908335 Title: Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/908335/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I'm now running 3.2 and haven't hit any snags (had locked three times this morning on 3.0.) I'll post back if my system does lock but if not, just go grab the 3.2 kernel image and generic header from kernel.ubuntu.com and you should be set. [Bug 908335] [NEW] Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often
Public bug reported: I (and others in the forums) are experiencing MANY hard freezes in Ubuntu since upgrading to Kernel 3.0. Here is as much information as I can give now but I'll run anything (including the possibility of allowing a remote connect) to diagnose this problem as I think it is serious and has the potential to ruining machines as I'm frequently having to hard shut down which of course runs the possibility of damaging a hard drive. Problem: Hard freeze very often (I've had as many as 5 in an hour). Hard freeze definition from me: 1. Mouse stops moving 2. Keyboard actions have no response (including alt+cntrl+f1) 3. Hard drive spins for a shor time but then stops 4. Only way to fix is hard shut down What's been done: 1. Checked logs (willing to provide any but I couldn't see any problem) 2. Tried finding out if software is triggering it, seems to be random, could be wrong Again I think that this is a major problem so I'll do whatever it takes to provide information. [Bug 902385] [NEW] Podcast Should Not Show As Downloaded Until 100% Downloaded
Public bug reported: Banshee reports that a file has been downloaded as soon as you right click and push Download. This should be changed to Banshee not reporting a file as downloaded until it reaches 100%. Furthermore Banshee should store downloading podcasts (ie in progress) in a temp file and then move the files to the appropriate podcast folder after it reaches 100%. The reason for this is that if the download is interrupted you are left with files that show downloaded and show up in your music library but are only partial downloads which you can listen to but are incomplete. The only way you find out that a file is in fact not downloaded is either by a. comparing file length to podcast source or b. listening and the podcast cutting off part way through. I can confirm this problem and I can say it has been a headache since OpenOffice 2 or prior. Auto bullets is almost useless in LibreOffice/OpenOffice because of this bug. I have attached my document showing the same exact thing. You can see that on Page 4 there is a very big extra gap for roman numeral III, roman numerals I II look fine but then there is a gap for 3 and as the original bug report stated, there is intermitant problems with tabbing/spaces from this point on. I am trying to add an attachment but launchpad is rejecting it (stating not found despite me clicking on it in the browser that pops up when I click on attachment)not sure what's going on with launchpad.
