[Bug 1593686] Re: Wi-Fi passphrase limit introduced in OTA-11

2016-07-04 Thread Joe Odukoya
FWIW after various problems trying to get my turbo connected to a local
hotspot here it suddenly started working only to stop working during one
of the landings for OTA11 (I'm not here all the time so I did not notice
it immediately).

The password is 40 characters long and I can no longer get turbo to
connect even with a complete reflash.

This has been complained about by some of our insiders and some of the

[Bug 1330959] Meeting tomorrow

2015-03-12 Thread Joe Odukoya
Hi Olli -

I know it is early for you but is there any chance you can make the
meeting slightly earlier.

I’m catching a train to Paris tomorrow and I need to leave home at 14:45
so 30 mins earlier would be ideal.

Otherwise feel free to proceed with Richard and just update me of any
outcomes via Telegram or email.

Cheers (sorry to be a pain)

Best

Joe

2015-03-04 Thread Joe Odukoya
Public bug reported:

Found on the Krillin...

If you record video with Rotation Lock 'On' the resulting video file is
squashed on playback.

Steps to reproduce.

 - Set rotation lock on

- record a video in the camera app while holding the phone in landscape
mode).

- playback the video

Result:

- the video is played back but it is 'squashed' horizontally.

[Bug 1420775] [NEW] Should be able to set a Voicemail number

2015-02-11 Thread Joe Odukoya
Public bug reported:

Many network operators store the Voicemail number in a special location on the
SIM card so that when the user does a long press on the number 1 on the dialpad
it automatically dials Voicemail.
If no Voicemail number is found then the user is prompted to enter their
Voicemail number.

I'm not sure if we actually attempt to read the Voicemail number from the SIM
card but it certainly does not seem to work with my Vodafone SIM.

We also do not appear to have any way for the user to enter their
Voicemail number - unless I am missing it somewhere...

[Bug 1372413] Re: Extensive battery drain on RTM

2015-01-15 Thread Joe Odukoya
My phone battery was virtually flat again this morning.
I'll see if I can get someone to help with the tech stuff above - meanwhile
though here is a screen-grab of my battery discharge graph from settings which
clearly shows a continuous (and fairly rapid) discharge overnight despite
being, supposedly, idle.

Note: Although the charge level says 26% it had actually descended to 7%
when I woke it up this morning. I put it on charge before it occurred to
me to take a screenshot.

[Bug 1350568] Re: [launcher] [design] Apps are not pinned to the launcher

2014-10-09 Thread Joe Odukoya
Actually this does not agree with the new rationalisation of the
Launcher (the Launcher will only contains apps the user has placed there
themselves).

Therefore I would suggest we drop this totally.

[Bug 1374397] Re: Camera app takes 1 minute to load

2014-10-04 Thread Joe Odukoya
This should be considered critical given that:

1 - We will be judged by camera use cases by our launch partners and end
users (it has already been highlighted in the feedback from beta
testers)

2- Performance is an area we need to be improving across the board.

3 - During this startup period the whole UI freezes (including blocking
emergency calls)

[Bug 1375988] Re: System settings crashes after quickly backing out of storage

2014-10-01 Thread Joe Odukoya
Sorry Pat but I'd like to move this back to Critical.

1 - For the reasons Chris mentioned above (we need to improve the overall
system stability and areas like this mount up)
2 - I managed to reproduce this very easily with just a double tap (basically
simulating a user that presses on Storage, realises they did not mean to and
taps on the back button, as nothing happens immediately they tap again and the
system app crashes).

[Bug 1364518] Re: [messaging-app] Send button is too small, translation doesn't fit for it.

2014-09-26 Thread Joe Odukoya
The suggestion isn't good enough - in French for example the word is
'Envoyer' which also causes problems...

Not sure what the German is but I would expect it is even longer.

We need to allow more leeway for languages with longer words (clearly 4
characters isn't going to be enough). Can we compare with Android and
IOS to get some guidance?

It is imperative that this is available for OTA1 so I propose that we still aim

With Option2 targeted for OTA1 and Option1 targeted for later (potentially
OTA-2).

[Bug 1368336] Re: [Dash] [design] Scopes should have a pull-to-refresh functionality

2014-09-23 Thread Joe Odukoya
Sorry but I believe what is required is a follows:

The main usage for this is to ensure that what you are seeing in the
scope is up to date and complete. You would use the pull to refresh
action:

 - To ensure that you have the latest default content on the scope page
(i.e. no search term entered)

- To trigger a refresh when coverage is patchy and the default content
has not fully loaded (i.e. again no search term entered)

- To retrigger a search that has returned incomplete results (likely due
to patchy coverage etc) in this case there will be a search term entered
and carrying out a refresh action should use the entered search term.

Updating only when new content is available does not seem to cover the
cases above...
