[Bug 292612] Re: Keyboard unresponsive after changing illumination of screen via keyboard
This might be related: On Intrepid after upgrading from 8.04 (after upgrading from Xubuntu 7.10 IIRC), on an IBM x40. Sometimes when I try to change the illumination (fn+home or fn+end on the x40) nothing happens at first. Sometimes the illumination bar shows up in the midle of the screen, sometimes it does not. Usually, after a while (up to minutes), the system catches up and replays the whole change in illumination. The illumination bar also someimes gets stuck on and stays on the screen for extended periods of time. And I have random changes in illumination while on AC. -- Keyboard unresponsive after changing illumination of screen via keyboard https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/292612 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 190888] Re: /etc/init.d/mzscheme does not start web-server
There is already an entry in the debian todo file regarding this issue, but the package is orphaned i Debian, so I don't think it will matter. -- /etc/init.d/mzscheme does not start web-server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/190888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 190888] Re: /etc/init.d/mzscheme does not start web-server
Yes and no. As far as I can tell there have been substantial changes in PLT's web-server scripts. Few of the original patches (on web-server) from debian apply, and the script to start a web-server has been replaced with an example (or stub) of how you could define and start your own web-server. So the answer is yes, it can be done, but I don't think you want to do it (the web-server part doesn't feel very well integrated into debian at all) and it would take some time. From my point of view this way we at least ships non-broken software. But I agree it is an intrusive patch.
So I made a shot at ripping out the defunct web-server scripts, and broken init-scripts. I did it the brute force way, just removing files from debian/ and editing rules, don't know if there is a better way to do it. It installs, and removes cleanly and afaict actually works. ** Attachment added: drscheme_372-1ubuntu2.debdiff http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12620897/drscheme_372-1ubuntu2.debdiff -- /etc/init.d/mzscheme does not start web-server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/190888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 190888] Re: /etc/init.d/mzscheme does not start web-server
Hardy has upgraded to drscheme 372 which does suffer from related problems, but not the exact same ones, so I need to do a new patch. My proposal is to drop the web-server initscript part from the package. I will try to come up with a patch for this vs hardy later during the week. Also note that the package is orphaned in debian, otherwise I think it would have been better to just fix the debian package. [Bug 190888] Re: /etc/init.d/mzscheme does not start web-server
Okey, I gave it a try, and I got a working package. BUT there is another problem regarding the web-server, since it depends on MrEd which is included in the drscheme package. So the debdiff also includes a move of the mred collects to the mzscheme deb which might (quite possibly) be the wrong way to do it (and I might also have done the move the wrong way ;). Maybe the whole web-server part should be moved to the drscheme deb since it depends somewhat on graphical elements? Anyway working diff included. ** Attachment added: drscheme_360-1ubuntu2.debdiff http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12040484/drscheme_360-1ubuntu2.debdiff -- /etc/init.d/mzscheme does not start web-server https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/190888 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
