[Bug 1155892] [NEW] Overscan settings in catalyst not used after starting Ubuntu

2013-03-16 Thread Johan Hult
Public bug reported:

Hi

I am testing the daily builds of 13.04 raring ringtail on a AMD desktop
with a Radeon 5750 graphics card and a dual monitor setup (normal
monitor and a HD-tv, both 1080p)

When using the binary drivers, fglrx or fglrx-updates I can set overscan
values in the catalyst control center and everything looks fine, but
when I reboot the system does not actualluy use the choosen overscan
values and the desktop does not fill the entire screen any longer. The
values choosen in the control center are still shown correctly in the
control center, but just not used when starting the desktop.

This problem does not exist in the open source drivers (but in turn they
ahve HDMI sound issues, but that is another bug :)).

This problem also also appeared in the 12.10 beta.

Best regards

[Bug 1066262] Re: Catalyst overscan settings not working after reboot

2012-10-17 Thread Johan Hult
For some reason the problem has solved itself. Literally the reboot
after I sent in the bug it started working correctly without me doing
anything.

Very strange since the problem occurred consistently over several days
and 5-6 reboots. It could have been solved by some bugg update but I
honestly have no idea.

[Bug 1066262] [NEW] Catalyst overscan settings not working after reboot

2012-10-13 Thread Johan Hult
Public bug reported:

I am using ubuntu 12.10 beta 2 with teh latest updates and have
activated the FGLRX-driver (updates version).

I have started using the restricted FGLRX-drivers and after adjusting
overscan values for my moniter everything looks fine, but after every
reboot it seems as if the overscan values I set in the catalyst control
center are not implemented.

The value itself is correct in the control center (0%), but the system
seems to not react correctly to it. As soon as I move the overscan dial,
it starts to react to the overscan % value used.
