Re: [Bug 1530459] Re: Samsung SSD 840 failed to get NCQ

2016-01-02 Thread JohnShep
Hi Chris,
I finally updated my bios (after six hours of frustration) and am now
using P01-A1, unfortunately the bug is still there :-(
Should I file a new report or would it be a lot easier for everyone if
I bought a new motherboard ?

re
sudo modprobe parport_pc

didn't work :-(

If you still cannot print, try to replace the HP backend by the standard
parallel backend creating a new print queue with system-config-printer,
selecting your printer under the detected ones, and then clicking the
little triangle at "Connection" (in the right part at the bottom).
Choose "Parallel Port", not "HP Linux Imaging and Printing".

didn't work :-(

thanks for trying to help though, much appreicated :-)

Re: [Bug 98812] Re: [apport] firefox-bin crashed with SIGSEGV in __kernel_vsyscall()

2007-03-30 Thread JohnShep
It has crashed a few times sometimes it just disappears in an
instance, sometimes it sort of freezes then when I minimize the screen
I get a concentric pattern of rectangles on the screen and have to
kill firefox. Before I didn't get the bug reporting screen, this was
the first time that came up. There is no pattern that I am aware of
which causes it to crash.
I have colorful tabs 2.0.1 and User Agent Switcher 0.6.9 installed

Best regards, John

[Bug 85415] mysql_pconnect() error

2007-02-15 Thread JohnShep
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: php5-mysql

I am using 6.10
Installing php5-mysql did not update /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini to enable the
mysql extension so generating errors when using the mysql_pconnect() function.
Fixed by removing comment from line
;extension=mysql.so
to
extension=mysql.so
in  /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini

This problem was reported on the forums several months ago.
