[Bug 1967697] [NEW] Not possible to change cpu-frequency

2022-04-03 Thread Johon Doee
Public bug reported:

Hello.

Installed Ubuntu 22.04 and trying to set CPU frequency.

My CPU is a Intel® Core™ i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz × 8. With Ubuntu 21.10
I was able to set the CPU frequency via Settings -> Power -> Power Mode
to all three status (Performance, Balanced, Powersave).

With Ubuntu 22.04 this doesn't work anymore. The CPU frequency always
stays the same. If I check with s-tui I can see that the frequency is
always on demand, no matter what I set.

[Bug 1967121] Re: Glitch on multiple windows selector when auto-hide is enabled

2022-04-02 Thread Johon Doee
Super annoying bug, and a regression as this didn't happen with Ubuntu
21.10.

The problem also happens if you set the dock to auto-hide, open the
dock, and right-click one of the favorites that are placed in the dock.
As soon as the right-click menu opens the dock auto-hides. Sometimes the
menu jumps to the very left of the screen, sometimes it just stays there
but in both cases it's wrong behavior.

Please fix that. Thanks.

2020-04-06 Thread Johon Doee
Thanks for working on that bug but I have to say that this is
ridiculous. A kernel update gets pushed with a mayor regression that
breaks Wifi and it takes over one month to fix that. The fix for this
issue didnt even land for 19.10 so far. This is just bad.

[Bug 1767302] [NEW] User is not added to kvm group when installing gnome-boxes

2018-04-27 Thread Johon Doee
Public bug reported:

Installing gnome-boxes does not add the user to the needed kvm group.
This leads to the problem that it is impossible to start any system within
gnome-boxes.

Gnome-Boxes throwes the error: CPU mode 'custom' for x86_64 kvm domain

adduser kvm solves that problem but how should an average

[Bug 1691357] Re: User switch not possible, login screen black

2017-05-21 Thread Johon Doee
Hm, strange.

I use the standard intel graphics drivers that come with ubuntu. I did
not install anything else.

Maybe it's a problem of the users I have created?

I created 3 other users (see below with their respective UID).

ubuntu:1000
user1:1001
user2:999
user3:1002

Only ubuntu and user3 have passwords set. user1 and user2 do not appear
in the login screen (I removed both from login screen).

Anyways - could that be the problem? But if so - why did this does not
make problems with the former gdm3-version?

[Bug 1692321] [NEW] Internet connection dies while WIFI is still connected

2017-05-21 Thread Johon Doee
Public bug reported:

Hello.

Experiencing the following problem:

My connection to the internet dies randomly. Usually if I max out my
connection speed but also when just plain serving. Happens not within a
specific time frame.

While the wifi is still connected I cannot ping/connect to internet-
servers anymore. Other devices connected to the router do not have this
problem, so it seems to be an ubuntu-specific problem.

Configuration:
Ubuntu Zesty 64bit
Linux ubuntu-201604 4.10.0-21-generic
Card-2: Intel Wireless 8260 driver: iwlwifi, IF: wlp1s0
Linux-firmware 1.164.1.

Cannot remember if the problem occured with Ubuntu 16.10...

[Bug 1691357] [NEW] User switch not possible, login screen black

2017-05-16 Thread Johon Doee
Public bug reported:

The bug presents itself the following way:

It occurs with update to gdm3 3.24.1-0ubuntu0.1. Did not happen before,
downgrade to gdm3 3.24.0-0ubuntu2 solves the problem.

My session does auto-start. After the desktop is loaded I try to switch
to another user. The screen goes black for some seconds and switches
back to the primary user. No login screen or user chooser is visible.
After trying that one time, also logout is not possible anymore. After
logout I do not see the login greeter but a black screen instead.

[Bug 1686257] Re: gdm3 fails to start when default session-name=ubuntu

2017-05-16 Thread Johon Doee
The update to gdm3 - 3.24.1-0ubuntu0.1 is just crap.

It's not possible anymore to switch users. It just shows a black screen when
using the user switch button.
Also logging out to the login screen also shows a black screen.
service gdm3 restart does not bring the login screen back.

Why are updates are not tested before they got uploaded?

Using Ubuntu Gnome, Zesty and Intel Skylake graphics.
