[Bug 1901829] Re: thunderbird fails to open, xml parse error

2020-10-29 Thread Joncheyne
To challenge the worked before the upgrade theory, I upgraded yesterday
and installed Thunderbird today. It worked the first time I ran it, for
ten minutes, but then failed to start the second time with the message
above. Safe mode also does not work, same error message.

[Bug 48097] Re: gedit does not get focus when opening more than one document

2007-10-25 Thread Joncheyne
I am seeing this on Gutsy. Gedit 2.20.3

It happens specifically when launching files from Nautilus. Gnome-
Launch-Panel or alt-f2 both make Gedit the foregound ok.

Re: [Bug 105227] Re: update-manager -d from edgy does not show upgrade option

2007-09-20 Thread Joncheyne
I just ran it (in feisty) to see if it could see the 7.10 release but I
guess this isn't visible yet?

Well you can still test this in edgy (or feisty for that matter) by
trying to update to 7.04 final. But I guess we should close this and
file another if this happens in gutsy. Any updates to update-manager can
be backported to edgy, and so I don't think it matters for edgy?

Good question - I gave up and upgraded by dvd some time ago.

I guess we need to wait til October to see :-)

Close this til then and reopen if still an issue?

Cheers

Re: [Bug 87796] Re: the calendar of the clock applet is slow

2007-06-17 Thread Joncheyne
Hi there - I searched around at the time and couldn't quite find the
exact problem anywhere else. I also use this feature so often that for
the time being I have disabled beryl, nice as it is.

I must go and see if there has been progress ...

Thanks for getting in touch!

[Bug 87796] Re: the calendar of the clock applet is slow

2007-05-10 Thread Joncheyne
I confirm this too

A single click does nothing. A single click every 5 or more seconds does
nothing.

A triple click always works with a single click to close. Further single
clicks of less than 5 seconds apart can then open and close the calendar
drop down.

If, however I select Metacity as my window manager it works fine, if I
select Beryl then I get the above. So it seems to be Beryl that is in
the way.

Is this the right place to post this?

[Bug 105227] update-manager -d from edgy does not show upgrade option

2007-04-10 Thread Joncheyne
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: update-manager

Running up to date Edgy, synaptic works, all ok.

Tried update-manager -d, also as gksu and also -d -c

No upgrade option shown, says system up to date.

Expected to see the 7.04 beta upgrade option

The only error being reported at the console is:
Introspect error: The name org.freedesktop.UpdateManager was not provided by
any .service files
no listening object (The name org.freedesktop.UpdateManager was not provided by
any .service files)

thanks
