[Bug 1634442] [NEW] GUI session crashes on boot
Public bug reported: I am trying to run Weston Wayland X server, in an attempt to get decent graphics performance. This is about an NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 (driver from PPA https://launchpad.net/~graphics-drivers/+archive/ubuntu/ppa `nvidia-370` (370.28)) and a Phillips bdm4065uc. Performance tests with 4k video are horrible in standard mir-xorg, lightdm/gdm, unity and gnome sessions. But I noticed performance is excellent when running steamOS (debian 8.6 based), this one uses XWayland. So I tried to get the same on Ubuntu but failed. [Bug 1508718] Re: NetworkManager - error initialzing editor
I have a workaround: The problem appears to occur only when using the " add mobile broadband connection wizard" from systemsettings-networksettings. However, When you manually add the connection via the "edit connections window", started from the bottom menu item of the network menu in the "dash menu bar", you get a mobile broadband connection that can be edited afterwards in the same way. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1508718 Title: NetworkManager - error initialzing editor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/1508718/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1334675] Re: Some locales are set to de_BE.UTF-8 when choosing Country 'Belgium' and language 'US English'
IMHO, the best workaround is this: cp /etc/default/locale /etc/default/locale_orig locale /etc/default/locale then vim /etc/default/locale in the command mode (type ESC twice to be sure), type this (you should see the command at the bottom of the screen: :%s/de_BE.UTF-8/en_US.UTF-8/g Then hit enter (not too hard!) [Bug 1330123] Re: grive needs relink
Back draw for grive-tools: The indicator appears to sync only one way: from google-drive to local. Automatic or manual appears to make no difference: icon is changing as if it is doing a sync when you changed something locally, but when it is finished without error, nothing has changed in google-drive in the web-interface. Grive executed from the commandline does a both way synchronisation, checked with modified files on both sides, as expected. I don't seem able to post a bug in the griv-tools project. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1330123 Title: grive needs relink To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grive/+bug/1330123/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1330123] Re: grive needs relink
As a workaround I suggest using the grive-tools PPA: https://launchpad.net/~thefanclub/+archive/ubuntu/grive-tools This one has as a plus a nice graphical interface. [Bug 1314095] Re: Unity Lockscreen in 14.04 can't unlock when using LDAP account
I have this behaviour on an LTSP client (ubuntu 14.04), chmod u+s /sbin/unix_chkpwd does not appear resolve it and I am using sssd to authenticate to ldap The screen-lock doesn't work by default in LTSP, I had to activate it with unity-tweak-tool. [Bug 1034609] Re: Palimpsest warns about misalignment of extended partition
I found that it is possible to resolve all non-alignment issues by resizing the problem partitions a bit with gparted, using a live-cd. The only partition where gparted fails to do this, is the FAT16 Dell diagnostics partition. Gparted ends with a numerical error on this (Which have not noted down and the problem machine is no longer with me). Nevertheless, I am convinced this is a bug in the Ubuntu installer system, since I have let the ubuntu installer do the automagic find space and resize partitions himself without any manual interaction. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1034609 Title: Palimpsest warns about misalignment of extended partition To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/1034609/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 221774] [NEW] package network-manager 0.6.6-0ubuntu5 failed to install/upgrade:
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager I tried the distro upgrade to 8.04 via update manager,... (was running 7.10) All went well, it reported a problem with the network-manager, but the console of the update manager reported that it was not fatal. Untill the system hung on this upgrade failure: unable to go to console with ALT+CTRL+F1 (or F2,F3,...), unable to start any program (like terminal or firefox), no reaction on a click on the shutdown icon, no reaction on ALT+CTRL+DEL. But I could still wobbly move the upgrade manager. I tried a short push on the shutdown button: no reaction. I switched the pc off. Switched it back on. After login I was invited to submit a bugreport (got message that the automatic bugreport was corrupt) on bugs.launchpad.net. I logged in. And here I am writing the bugreport. It appears to have recovered quite well, since I got network,... I can browse, ... I can submit this report. I will see if there was any further damage.
