Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-17-generic
When using more than 3.5 Gigabyte RAM on Hardy 64bit my Prism54 PCI- Card for W-LAN (Intersil Corporation ISL3890 [Prism GT/Prism Duette]/ISL3886 [Prism Javelin/Prism Xbow]) doesn't work anymore: scanning gives no results, joining a network is impossible but the interface is still there and correctly detected. Booting with the mem=3500M option makes the card work again. dmesg shows nothing else than " [ 70.386563] ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlan0: link is not ready" Syslog says "May 27 18:00:17 pyramus dhclient: wmaster0: unknown hardware address type 801 May 27 18:00:17 pyramus kernel: [ 467.673011] wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:14:6c:09:de:fa May 27 18:00:18 pyramus kernel: [ 467.872855] wlan0: authenticate with AP 00:14:6c:09:de:fa May 27 18:00:18 pyramus kernel: [ 468.072707] wlan0: authentication with AP 00:14:6c:09:de:fa timed out" My AP indeed is 00:14:6c:09:de:fa. The authentication is simple128 bit WEP encryption. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [hardy] memory > 3.5G problem with prism54pci in 2.6.24-17 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235266 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
