[Bug 1850098] Re: Ubuntu 19.10 black screen after first reboot

2019-10-29 Thread Joseph Markham
I have no idea of these packages.

Lubuntu works well on this machine. It's an old Dell optiplex 780 with
an intel graphics chipset.

[Bug 1850098] [NEW] Ubuntu 19.10 black screen after first reboot

2019-10-27 Thread Joseph Markham
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu installs, Graphics reported as IntelĀ® Q45/Q43, black screen on
reboot

troubleshooting led me to:

edit /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and uncommented #waylandenable=false

edit /etc/default/grub

amended GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" to
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i915.modeset=1"

as I have an intel graphics chipset.

Hope this helps

[Bug 862775] Re: Unusable minimize button when Dash is open; buttons look ugly

2011-10-21 Thread Joseph Markham
They look really really ugly can't they be the same as the normal
window buttons, but with a lighter shade of colour?
