On windows 10 there is an icon in the bottom bar that invokes the OSK. I can think of situations you want to invoke it that are not textfield related. Perhaps we could add an icon in the indicators? And I agree, there should probably be a system setting for auto-invoking it which you can turn on/off. [Bug 1510510] Re: Error with geotagging (fixed position defined as geotag)
To me it sounds like issues with location in general, I wouldn't do special casing for camera. If the GPS is enabled from system settings, and geotagging is enabled for the camera, it should Just Work (at least outdoors) . There have been several complaints on the phone mailing list about the GPS in general, and looks like some issues were fixed in OTA-8, so perhaps try with that again. In normal circumstances to get a first time (cold start) GPS-only fix outdoors might take 10 minutes, but getting location after that is much faster. Assisted GPS (A-GPS) is much faster and also works indoors, but I am not sure if we are using that? I would get location-service people to look at this. Public bug reported: 1. Boot nexus 7 2. In the login screen, test that OSK works by tapping the password textfield 3. swipe keyboard back down after testing it works 4. Turn on Bluetooth mouse to get a mouse cursor 5. Click on password textfield OSK doesn't pop up, touch tapping on the field doesn't bring up the OSK anymore either. ie. Hopefully the thumbnailer bug can be fixed. Commenting on the desire to have dates or filenames - I wouldn't show them by default in the UI. Instead long pressing should take the user into an edit mode, where it's possible to select one or several thumbnails, and perform actions on them (delete etc). I discussed this with Michael and we had the following thoughts -We should store the screenshots in full res up to some point (like 720p, to be tested when implementing). So on low res devices they are full resolution, on higher dpi devices there won't be that much of a visible diff anyway.
