[Bug 903422] Re: Ubuntu does not work with Samsung Galaxy phones (needs update to libmtp)
http://bernaerts.dyndns.org/linux/247-ubuntu-automount-nexus7-mtp says that PTP works in Ubuntu 12.04. Doesn't for me. When I plug my 4.2 Galaxy Nexus into my 12.04 MacBook Pro and try to drag a picture from Nautilus to the desktop, I get an error Error while copying IMG_20120704_215542.jpg. There was an error copying the file into /home/juancnuno/Desktop. [Bug 774089] Re: Booting fails 3 times, works every fourth time after new install of Natty Narwhal amd64 on Macbook Pro
I agree with the above posters. This is a _very_ serious bug that kills MacBooks. This needs to be listed in the release notes. Mine is still dead. It will not boot. I've installed OS X on an external USB drive but bless doesn't seem to work from there. sudo bless -mount / -firmware MBP53_00AC_03B_LOCKED.scap WARNING: Improper use of the sudo command could lead to data loss or the deletion of important system files. [Bug 774089] Re: Booting fails 3 times, works every fourth time after new install of Natty Narwhal amd64 on Macbook Pro
My problem is similar to this one. I tried fresh installing Ubuntu 11.04 over 10.10 on my MacBook Pro 5,4 with the ubuntu-11.04-desktop-amd64.iso image. Only it never boots successfully. On every fourth (or so) time, I get an invalid arch independent ELF magic error. It looks like the fix for this is to get to a bash prompt upon successful boot and reflash the EFI firmware with this bless command. But how am I supposed to do that when I can never get a bash prompt? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/774089 Title: Booting fails 3 times, works every fourth time after new install of Natty Narwhal amd64 on Macbook Pro -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 774089] Re: Booting fails 3 times, works every fourth time after new install of Natty Narwhal amd64 on Macbook Pro
That wasn't clear to me, thank you. I usually run only Ubuntu on my MacBook. I still have the OS X DVD lying around. I will try installing that, doing that bless thing, and an Ubuntu reinstall. [Bug 668925] Re: Removing a Contact in Empathy Deletes It from the Gmail Contact Manager
Did you try it? I use the Gmail Contact Manager to organize my contacts. Set one up with a Google Talk username and some other miscellaneous information, their birthday for example. Set up Empathy with a Google Talk account tied to that contact. If you remove the contact from the Empathy list, it deletes the contact from Gmail. Including the birthday. Pidgin does not do the same thing. I'm sad to see this bug closed. As long as this is an issue I cannot use Empathy, nor recommend it to anyone else. -- Removing a Contact in Empathy Deletes It from the Gmail Contact Manager https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668925 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 668925] [NEW] Removing a Contact in Empathy Deletes It from the Gmail Contact Manager
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: empathy I removed a Google Talk contact from Empathy. And I found out that it was deleted entirely from the Gmail Contact Manager.
