[Bug 979003] Re: libc incorrectly detects AVX support

2013-10-03 Thread Justin Baugh
This change really needs to be pushed to main; debootstrap and friends
aren't smart enough to consider *-updates repositories, which (for
instance) renders xen-create-image useless on a Precise system with a
CPU that triggers the original bug.

[Bug 956051] Re: libc6 crash while running 'xm'

2013-08-19 Thread Justin Baugh
Is there any way this can get pushed to precise instead of precise-
updates? See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1007439 - it's now
impossible to use xen-tools (e.g. xen-create-image) to make a 12.04
guest because this bug is hit almost instantly during the debootstrap
install process (which doesn't comprehend -updates).

Although that bug is related to installing a precise guest under
XenServer, you can observe this behavior by trying to install a precise
guest on a precise domU with a CPU that is affected by this bug.

[Bug 89496] libpcrecpp-dev does not exist

2007-03-03 Thread Justin Baugh
Public bug reported:

For the C++ PCRE library, there is no development package.

For instance, the libpcre3-dev package contains headers, development
libraries, and the pcre-config shell script. There is no such equivalent
package for the C++ library.

An example: It looks like no package in either ubuntu or debian contains
the pcre++-config script, which is needed to build C++ applications that
use the library. This makes building libopkele (an OpenID C++ library)
somewhat difficult.

** Affects: Ubuntu
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Unconfirmed

** Description changed:

- For the C++ PCRE bindings, there is no development package.
