[Bug 1889509] Re: grub boot error : "symbol 'grub_calloc' not found

2020-07-30 Thread Kal Sze
How do I tell whether my grub is ok (without rebooting)?

My machine still hasn't rebooted since the grub2 upgrade, and I'm too
afraid to do so now.

[Bug 1889509] Re: grub boot error : "symbol 'grub_calloc' not found

2020-07-30 Thread Kal Sze
cybrNaut on #ubuntu on Freenode IRC claims that the problem is resolved
with a new kernel version.

Is that true? What kernel version would I need? Right now I'm running
Ubuntu Bionic 18.04 with the HWE kernel 5.4.0-42-generic
#46~18.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 10 07:21:24 UTC 2020. That's not new
enough, right?

[Bug 1611523] Re: ibus-setup fails with local python3

I agree that the full path to the system python3 should be specified. I
use pyenv to install multiple local versions of python2 and python3. And
this was breaking silently for me (couldn't open the preferences gui
from the ibus menu).

[Bug 1589008] Re: Bluetooth freezing video playback In Ubuntu/Kubuntu 16.04

2017-04-04 Thread Kal Palatov
Hi all, good news I found a fix! well more of a work around:

My Ubuntu partition spontaneously decided to stop booting altogether a
few weeks ago so as a result I have switched back to using windows 7
full time. This has resolved my issue.

Has anyone got any ideas how to progress?

They STILL haven't fixed something as fundamental as this?! It must
affect all AMD graphics users with post Radeon 4000 series. How on earth
do Canonical expect to succeed in any market when something as basic as
installing a bloody graphics driver isn't possible or promptly fixed?
And as always from Canonical, NO communication. So amateurish!

[Bug 661151] Re: gparted 0.6.2 crashes after unformatted partition created

I too have experienced the same bug. By using the Disk manager utility
instead of gparted I deleted the unformated space and so was again able
to load Gparted, without having to play around with different versions
of gparted.

I would confirm that it must be the unformatted space that is causing
gparted to crash.

Re: [Bug 428510] Re: [Dell Inc. Latitude E6500] late resume failure

2009-10-28 Thread Kal McFate
I downgraded to a 2.6.30 kernel and it works fine. As soon as i put a
2.6.31 kernel it always hangs attempting to suspend. Now it is guaranteed
hang. I am just running 2.6.30 for now.

2009/10/28 Michał Gołębiowski mz.go...@gmail.com

I use 64-bit Karmic on Dell E6500; I tried suspend several times and it
 worked in all of cases.

Could You try to provide steps to reproduce it? Otherwise I doubt
anybody will be able to help...

[Bug 341653] [NEW] No default templated activated in phpsysinfo 3.0-rc6

2009-03-12 Thread Kal
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: phpsysinfo

Hello,

Using Ubuntu Server 8.10, default phphsysinfo 3.0~rc6-1 package is
buggy. Indeed, when I load the web page, there is *NO* template
activated, no matter the value in the option list. I have to choose a
template in the option list, and go back to the default one to get it
activated.

This bug happens only with Firefox 3.0.7 running on Mac OS X 10.5

Cheers,
Kal
