[Bug 1670041] Re: Poor performance of Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac (rev 32) (Killer Wireless 1535)

2018-04-30 Thread Kalle Valo
The low throughput with transmit TCP streams on ath10k should be fixed
with this mac80211 commit:

mac80211: Adjust TSQ pacing shift

https://git.kernel.org/linus/36148c2bbfbe50c50206b6f61d072203c80161e0

Apparently v4.16-rc5 was the first release to have that commit.

[Bug 1670041] Re: Poor performance of Atheros QCA6174 802.11ac (rev 32) (Killer Wireless 1535)

2017-05-05 Thread Kalle Valo
I'm having a hard time understanding this bug report, so I have some
extra questions:

Is the 27.3 Mbit/s throughput transmit (laptop -> AP) or receive (AP ->
laptop) speed? That's an important detail to know.

Also I see claims that this is a firmware problem, how was that
conclusion made?

If receive throughput is good but transmit throughput is low when it's
most like the longstanding problem ath10k has with Linux TCP stack. To
confirm that there's a hack patch which workarounds the issue:

https://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/5784701/

Bug 729348 seems to have vanished! I cannot open that bug when I click
on any links to it. Launchpad says 'Page not found'.

That's because the bug is still private. Someone needs to change it

[Bug 708776] Re: wireless takes long time to find networks

2011-04-12 Thread Kalle Valo
I have been trying to get a workaround to wpasupplicant, but
unfortunately none of my patches have been acceptable and I have now
given up after four rounds.

Maybe it would be possible to fix this in kernel? For example
implementing a wireless extension wrapper for the buggy wl driver or
something similar? IIRC openwrt had done something similar.

 Invalid? Reason please :)

Invalid in network-manager-applet _upstream_ project. This is because I
accidently moved the bug from indicator-network to

The bug state in ubuntu project is still New, you can check it here:

I admit that these bug states in different projects are confusing, I

The screenshots are from indicator-network 0.3.6 and it's not using

toggleswitch.vala from indicator-network sources. indicator-network will
be changed to use GtkWidget once Ubuntu has switched to gtk3. But as we
are still using gtk2, we had to implement a custom widget.

Hmm, indicator-network isn't actually installed. I wonder why this was

Re: [Bug 733857] Re: The ON/OFF status of GtkSwitch elements is hard to tell apart.

2011-03-14 Thread Kalle Valo
Matthew Paul Thomas m...@canonical.com writes:

Andrew, could you (or anyone else, if they like) change the in-menu
switch so that the ON background uses the selection color, like the out-
 of-menu switch does? Thank you.

I had that originally but it was extremely annoying. The orange
background with my theme (don't know the name, but it should be the
default theme) was so brigh and eye catching, that I didn't like it at
all.

I can change it back, but I really think it's not a good choice of color
for the menu. I'll provide a screenshot later on.

[Bug 732608] [NEW] [FFe] Upgrade indicator-network to 0.3.6

2011-03-10 Thread Kalle Valo
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-network

indicator-network 0.3.6 has these new features:

o New Network Settings app written in vala. Follows the ui design more closely.
o Flight mode support both in Network Menu and in the Network Settings app.
o Proper toggle switches in Network Menu.

Even these are new features, they make it easier to use indicator-
network. The most risks are with the settings app, but all regressions
are easy to fix due to simplicity of the application. And because
indicator-network is in universe, there isn't that many users yet.

[Bug 667611] Re: wxmaxima - missing menu bar

2011-02-23 Thread Kalle Valo
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 619811 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/619811

Why this is duplicate of bug #619811, which is about lyx menus not
working? I can't see the correlation. As wxmaxima is using wxwidgets I
would assume this is duplicate of bug #662077.

[Bug 721572] Re: time = 00:00 still shows yesterdays date

I cheated and set the time manually, and I see this as well. At 12:00
AM indicator was saying it's Tuesday but at at 12:01 AM it was saying
it's Wednesday. (I'm using 12h clock, but it shouldn't matter here.)
