2013-01-24 Thread Kamil Nadeem
Thanks for replying.
It is a desktop. The speaker is a Creative 4.1, has two jacks, 1 gree(the front
speakers) and 1 black(the rear speakers amd the subwoofer).
There is a hardware volume knob for volume and there is a hardware knob on the
subwoofer(which is always set to the middle). I posted a video about it on G+
https://plus.google.com/112759940931397244391/posts/BpWXvRuMvRc , this bug as I
mentioned on G+ has persisted from 11.10 to 13.04 daily. I mostly run
Ubuntu(and Ubuntu based distro) so I haven't tested this on any other distro.

For the command that you asked:

kamil@kamil-MG-63MI-7109:~$ alsa-info.sh
alsa-info.sh: command not found
kamil@kamil-MG-63MI-7109:~$

I may be doing something wrong here.

[Bug 982488] [NEW] Poor System performance on my machine running Ubuntu 12.04(Beta 2 updated to the present moment)

2012-04-15 Thread Kamil Nadeem
Public bug reported:

Why is it that my system dies when multitasking(it is happening from
11.10) on Ubuntu11.10(Unity), Kubuntu 11.10(KDE) and Deepin Linux which
is based on 11.10(Gnome-Shell) The thing is that I thought with 12.04 I
would get performance like I used to get on 11.04 on which everything
used to run fine without any lag or hiccups.

The same lagging(Browser starts to stutter, increased delay in the
launching of dash and applications)is happening on 12.04
http://i.imgur.com/YChKB.png and http://i.imgur.com/uyXLA.png . I
believe that my system configuration 2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo, 2GB Ram, nvidia
9800GT is sufficient for running Ubuntu and you can check here for more
system details http://paste.ubuntu.com/929734/ .

I had the Google voice and chat plugin installed on 12.04 so someone
suggested that I should remove that and see if the performance improves
but no such respite(I am having this on multiple operating system based
on Ubuntu 11.10 as I have mentioned above). On a friends suggestion, Ran
Memory Test through Partition Magic and my system passed that fine.

One thing more that I would like to know is that why when I have 2Gb Ram
and 2.1GB swap does my system starts lag and run poorly when Ram
consumption goes 500+. If you require anymore information I will gladly
provide it

This question is seeking the answer as to why is it not running and I
am in no way saying that It must run well, SO if it is established
that the lack is in my system configuration, I will switch to Kubuntu,
Xubuntu or some other lighter distro.

A friend has given me a link
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DemystifyingUnityGraphicsHardwareRequirements
which also establishes that my system is capable of running Ubuntu(Unity
3D) 12.04 and multitasking.

[Bug 900616] [NEW] Sound profile roll back from 4.1 to stereo in Ubuntu 11.10, also the connector in sound settings acts weird

2011-12-05 Thread Kamil Nadeem
Public bug reported:

I set the sound profile to 4.1 surround but when I turn up the
volume(from the sound indicator)to high it reverts to stereo output.I
think I found the reason of it being that when I increase the volume the
connector in sound setting starts interchanging between Headphone and
speaker(like crazy because I don't have a headphone connected) and
because of that sound profile reverts to stereo output(as headphone
connector doesn't support 4.1 surround profile). I have had this problem
on all of my Ubuntu 11.10 installs. Is There A Fix? Thank You.

Here is is the screenshot of it http://i.imgur.com/oNUGn.png I selected
4.1 surround then increased the sound to max, the profile changed to
stereo output as the connector started to interchange between
speakers/headphones.

I have two jacks with my speaker system. 1st is green and is for front
speakers, 2 is black and for rear speaker+sub woofer. I have plugged
them as usual in the cabinet and the things is that this problem doesn't
happen in my Kubuntu 11.10 install or any other distros that I have
installed yet. This phenomenon of the connector shuffling between
speaker/headphone is a first for me on Ubuntu 11.10 and has happened on
all of my Ubuntu 11.10 installs.

2011-08-10 Thread Kamil Nadeem
** Description changed:

Hello fellow brothers in Linux I run Ubuntu 11.04 32bit and I need your help.
Had downloaded Braid yesterday from humble bundle 3. the game is in a .bin
file
and it didn't ran so made it executable in permissions but to no help, then
did
forum searching on installing bin files and found (chmod a+x name_of_file.bin
and then sudo ./name_of_file.bin It will install the bin file.) It installed
as
root only to find out it will not run then went over deleting the file using
sudo nautilus before deleting the files ran Bird and following error came up
in
terminal Game Startup Error: Unable to set up graphics. Reason: Failed to
  initialize OpenGL display.
Then added .sh to the file and ran it and installed it in the home folder but
the game won't run. (I am running nvidia 9800gt with the latest drivers so my
system is an able being) and have already contacted The Humble bundle guys and
they cannot help because they claim to have short hand in Linux and asked to
look in Linux forums. The game is uninstalling well by clicking
uninstall-braid.sh also .braid file is being created in home folder This mean
the installation is okay. So here I rest my case.
- They have provided a debian package and Installed the game but the game won't

[Bug 822858] [NEW] Braid downloaded from humble bundle 3 but not running on Ubuntu 11.04

2011-08-08 Thread Kamil Nadeem
Public bug reported:

Hello fellow brothers in Linux I run Ubuntu 11.04 32bit and I need your help.
Had downloaded Braid yesterday from humble bundle 3. the game is in a .bin file
and it didn't ran so made it executable in permissions but to no help, then did
forum searching on installing bin files and found (chmod a+x name_of_file.bin
and then sudo ./name_of_file.bin It will install the bin file.) It installed as
root only to find out it will not run then went over deleting the file using
sudo nautilus before deleting the files ran Bird and following error came up in
terminal Game Startup Error: Unable to set up graphics.
They have provided a debian package and Installed the game but the game won't
run , I click on the braid Icon but nothing happens.

[Bug 800517] Re: While the pages are loading , firefox freezes(minimise it and it disturbs my screen)

2011-06-25 Thread Kamil Nadeem
I have been using firefox on both widows and now on ubuntu and it had never
happened untill recently . It is not normal , I click on pages and they load
and then browser freezes , no clicks work except minimize and when id minimise
it hangs the screen. Also wanted to know why when I play files on youtube and
play a video from my system the Youtube video overlays(see,n in the background)
in my mplayer?.
Thank You.
