[Bug 958174] Re: Wireless Mouse not registered on Startup or Reboot

2013-05-08 Thread Kent57
Can confirm this problem still exists in Kubuntu 13-04 clean install with a
Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman. Running lsusb shows the wireless device
is there but it does not function.
Solutions offered in posts 40 50 do not work only unplugging and plugging it
back in, resolves the issue till next time.

[Bug 554514] Re: cant find resource agents

2010-08-11 Thread Kent57
I figured I had it fixed but it's started again! Akonadi error messages and NO
Kontacts. This is really frustrating. Now I have to go searching for the
problem again.
Thankfully Patrick's workaround above gets my addresses back.
Not what you would call ready for prime time.

[Bug 422174] Re: cannot connect to hidden ssid

2010-05-31 Thread Kent57
Can confirm this very annoying bug on a clean Lucid install. Had the same
issues in Karmic. I really feel sorry for anyone trying Kubuntu who doesn't
know how to tweak things. This is NOT ready for wide distribution.
amichair tried your 'workaround' on reboot my hidden network is listed. BUT
it's listed as insecure when I check the WEP key it's not the one I entered
before reboot..
PS I added my vote

[Bug 424249] Re: locks when trying to save as PDF

2010-04-26 Thread Kent57
Problem still exists for me in Kubuntu Karmic with the latest packages for
gscan2pdt-0.9.29-1ubuntu0.1(all) imagemagick-0.7:6.5.1.0-1.1ubuntu3(i386).
gscan2pdf will not produce PDF file. It stalls at saving 1 of 1 unless file
in first saved as TIFF then imported into a new file.
Any ideas?

[Bug 473817] Re: [karmic] wicd doesn't find networks after inserting hidden essid

2010-01-01 Thread Kent57
Plasma-widget-networkmanager was working with hidden ssid but recently
has broken. I switched back to WICD and it's broken now too. Can not
find or log on to my hidden network with either. The network is working
fine as I can use the hidden network if I boot Windoz.

[Bug 330811] Re: Can't connect to a hidden network

2009-05-31 Thread Kent57
Count me hasty too. I just had to revert to Wicd because I could not get plasma
widget to connect to hidden network again. I had to replace a dead wireless
router a simply could not get widget to auto connect with new router
(configured the same as the old one).
I don't think this issue is resolved yet.

[Bug 330811] Re: Can't connect to a hidden network

2009-04-08 Thread Kent57
I have the same problem with a Compac laptop running Kubuntu 9.04. It
started after upgrading from Kubuntu 8.10, which worked just fine. The
only way to connect to my hidden wireless network now is to make it
visible. I've tried Wicd which finds the hidden network also works
well. I would like to see plasma-widget-network-manager work as it has
that cool plasma look. But in the meantime I'll stick with Wicd.
