[Bug 860821] Re: gcalctool crashed with signal 5 in g_simple_async_result_complete()

2012-03-13 Thread Kirill Vaynberg
For me it happened when I just opened it and tried to switch to
Financial mode. It did not do anything so I tried again. Then it froze
(greyed out), then switched, then greyed out again and crushed.

[Bug 948907] [NEW] Samsung N210: Screen brighness adjustment no longer available in 12.04 Beta (worked fine in Alpha 2)

2012-03-07 Thread Kirill Vaynberg
Public bug reported:

Hi,
After the last update I cannot adjust my netbook screen brighness. The
shortcuts stopped working and the slider in System Settings - Brighness and
Lock disappears when I open it (thats right, its there for half a second on
openning Brighness and Lock but then disappears.
Everything worked fine in Alpha 2 straight out of the box. Please note that all
previous Ubuntu versions (before 12.04) needed custom drivers for this.
Unfortunately the maintainer has difficulties and it looks like he will not be
able to keep looking after this:

Although there is a fix for bug 861061, this problem still persists in

[Bug 896476] Re: type 'exceptions.KeyError': The cache has no package named 'rocs-dbg'

Might help you to know that when it happened I had a very fresh install,
with just CompizConfig and Russian language pack added.

[Bug 839280] Re: transmission slow to start

2011-11-03 Thread Kirill Vaynberg
For me, every time I try to start Transmission, it takes up to several
minutes but then works fine. In System Monitor (during the initial
delay) the process 'transmission-gtk' has Status 'Sleeping' and Waiting
Channel 'hrtimer-nanosleep'. Looks like its just taking a nap =)

[Bug 587909] [NEW] No cutscenes or videos

2010-05-31 Thread Kirill Vaynberg
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: warzone2100

Well, this one is easy. Although WZ is in the official repository, the package
does not include the videos. They must be separately downloaded from
http://wz2100.net/download and placed in the game directory.
I think I know why it is done this way. It helps people with limited bandwidth
to enjoy the game and besides, the videos can be downloaded in different
quality.
However, the description in the depository did not mention this, and did not
have a link to http://wz2100.net/download
Please add this info there, it will help new users get the game up and running
quicker.

PS I am using a fully updated Ubuntu 10.4 Netbook Edition to access the
game.
