[Bug 427744] [NEW] X fonts disappeared after update
Public bug reported: I did a normal update/upgrade on 2009-09-09 and when I restarted my computer on 2009-09-10, almost all letters disappeared in X. This is more or less documented on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=7931196&posted=1#post7931196. In my opinion one of the xserver backends (drivers) has a buggy update, especially Intel driver. Another option is mesa, but I'm not sure. I attached all my known details on ubuntuforums. [Bug 299918] Re: Cannot print duplex in intrepid with Ricoh Aficio 2060, Ricoh Aficio MPC3000 or Brother HL-4050cdn using the openprinting drivers
Dear Till and All, I run into a very similar problem on Debian Lenny. I understand that this is the bug list for Ubuntu, but maybe someone can help me to fix my problem. My printer is Ricoh Aficio 2035, no PS support is available (only PXL). I tried to create a new .deb package using the source Ubuntu package in Intrepid (foomatic-filters_4.0.0-0ubuntu3). I successfully created the package and installed on Lenny. Unfortunately I cannot print duplex after the upgrade. [Bug 232469] Re: Synaptic does not use proxy in some cases
Not only synaptic is affected, but apt also in general. In fact, these packages (msttcorefonts, flashplugin-nonfree and others) use wget to download their own special files from the internet. I can consider that these packages are not prepared for handling bad wget/apt communication --- flashplugin-nonfree waits for available connection forever, however msttcorefonts gives up trying after a specific timeout. My idea for solution is: Fix ALL .deb packages (postinst part) to set the http_proxy environment variable from apt's setting (if it is defined). If the proxy setting is configured well in apt (which also means synaptic is configured properly) then all problematic packages will be installed automagically. -- Synaptic does not use proxy in some cases https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/232469 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: Binary package hint: ttf-larabie-deco In OpenOffice.org (2.2, Ubuntu Feisty) I started to use the You're Gone font which is very nice. However, if I use special characters of it, after saving and reloading the document (using a new instance of OpenOffice), some characters are displayed incorrectly and bad kerning may occur. [Bug 110722] bad mimetype detection through ssh if file extensions are not present
