[Bug 2066129] Re: The external monitor does not wake up from sleep at 4K resolution
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected possible-manual-nvidia-install ubuntu ** Description changed: I have Ubuntu Studio 24.04 and Ubuntu 24.04 - the problem is identical on both. Namely, I have a 4K external monitor connected to my laptop. I would like to use the native 4K resolution on both the laptop and the external monitor. Unfortunately, if I use the 4K resolution, every time the computer goes into sleep mode or just screen saver mode, the external screen doesn't wake up. Changing the resolution to a lower one and then back to 4K helps, and everything works until the next sleep. The problem does not occur at resolutions lower than 4K - the external monitor wakes up every time. - I am using an NVIDIA GeForce 2080 RTX graphics card with the nvidia- - driver-550 drivers, but I have checked with several earlier versions. - The same issue occurs with the Nouveau drivers. + I am using an NVIDIA GeForce 2080 RTX graphics card with the nvidia-driver-550 drivers, but I have checked with several earlier versions. [Bug 2059107] [NEW] lto-disabled-list not documented in dpkg-buildflags man page
Public bug reported: When debugging some compilation issue I couldn't understand why the buildflags would be changed depending in the source package name. I did go through dpkg-buildflags man page but couldn't find an answer. It took me quite some time to figure out what's going on and only after I found out about lto-disabled-list file, I was able to find documentation on https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ToolChain/LTO. I understand this was considered temporary but it seems like it is to stay for some time. Man page is one of the most important documentation many people would be looking into in case of problems and it is quite unexpected that multiple ways of configuring dpkg-buildflags are mentioned but this one isn't. It is even adding to the confusion by mentioning lto is disabled by default which is not the case on Ubuntu: "lto This setting (since dpkg 1.21.0; disabled by default)" Would you consider adding information about that feature also to the man page? I'm using Ubuntu 23.10 with 1.22.0ubuntu1.1 but as far as I can tell that is also not documented in ubuntu/devel branch of https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpkg. ** Affects: dpkg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2059107 Title: lto-disabled-list not documented in dpkg-buildflags man page To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dpkg/+bug/2059107/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Public bug reported: linux-firmware 20220329.git681281e4-0ubuntu1 used by Ubuntu 22.04 does not contain drivers for some Atheros WiFi/Bluetooth chipsets, which were included in the previous Ubuntu releases. The package is missing some files from https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git/tree, specifically: - ar3k (whole directory, was present in impish, missing in jammy) - ar*.fw - firmware for AR7010, AR9170 and AR9271 (can't find in the impish version) Because of that Bluetooth can't be enabled and WiFi is unstable on devices equipped with Atheros chipsets. In my case the following errors are reported by dmesg: [3.653613] usb 1-1.1: Direct firmware load for ar3k/AthrBT_0x1102.dfu failed with error -2 [3.653619] Bluetooth: Patch file not found ar3k/AthrBT_0x1102.dfu [3.653626] Bluetooth: Loading patch file failed [3.653631] ath3k: probe of 1-1.1:1.0 failed with error -2 ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 22.04 Package: linux-firmware 20220329.git681281e4-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 5.15.0-25.25-generic 5.15.30 Uname: Linux 5.15.0-25-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu82 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: krzys 1642 F pulseaudio CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown Date: Sun Apr 24 17:32:11 2022 Dependencies: firmware-sof-signed 2.0-1ubuntu2 InstallationDate: Installed on 2018-11-06 (1265 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 18.10 "Cosmic Cuttlefish" - Release amd64 (20181017.3) MachineType: Acer Aspire E1-571G PackageArchitecture: all ProcFB: 0 i915drmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-5.15.0-25-generic root=UUID=ee6503b7-82f1-4ece-9e74-935ca46a08f4 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 PulseList: Error: command ['pacmd', 'list'] failed with exit code 1: No PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon. [Bug 1959762] [NEW] HID_ASUS should depend on USB_HID in stable v4.15 backports
Public bug reported: [Impact] Backported to bionic/linux commit f83baa0cb6cf ("HID: add hid_is_usb() function to make it simpler for USB detection") brings to HID_ASUS usage of hid_is_usb() which is provided by USB_HID. If HID_ASUS is built as module but USB_HID is not, the kernel build will fail (like linux-azure) did: ERROR: "usb_hid_driver" [drivers/hid/hid-asus.ko] undefined! [Fix] Because of backport of commit commit f83baa0cb6cf ("HID: add hid_is_usb() function to make it simpler for USB detection"), the bionic/linux needs also backport of commit c4f0126d487f ("HID: asus: Add depends on USB_HID to HID_ASUS Kconfig option"). [Test Plan] Build HID_ASUS as module with or without USB_HID. [Where problems could occur] It's a new KConfig dependency, so configs using HID_ASUS without USB_HID will loose HID_ASUS. This is expected, so no problems should occur. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bionic ** Tags added: bionic ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: + [Impact] + Backported to bionic/linux commit f83baa0cb6cf ("HID: add hid_is_usb() function to make it simpler for USB detection") brings to HID_ASUS usage of hid_is_usb() which is provided by USB_HID. [Bug 1959130] [NEW] Add rtla to tools Jammy realtime kernel
Public bug reported: Include new rtla (Real-Time Linux Analysis tool) in Jammy realtime kernel. The rtla is a meta-tool that includes a set of commands that aims to analyze the real-time properties of Linux. But instead of testing Linux as a black box, rtla leverages kernel tracing capabilities to provide precise information about the properties and root causes of unexpected results. Including the tool gives more way to investigate realtime capabilities and issues of the kernel. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Assignee: Krzysztof Kozlowski (krzk) Status: New ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) => Krzysztof Kozlowski (krzk) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1959130 Title: Add rtla to tools Jammy realtime kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1959130/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1957788] Re: Enable CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED in relatime kernel
While there could be some use cases for CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED, the option seems to work only with cgroups v1 and we use cgroups v2 on Jammy. Therefore with CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED it is not possible to run any realtime task, which is also seen as failures on some of LTP tests. The CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED should not be enabled for v5.15. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: In Progress => Won't Fix ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1957788 Title: Enable CONFIG_RT_GROUP_SCHED in relatime kernel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1957788/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1770532] Re: DKIM signing not working in bionic
Hi. This is real issue, because DKIM signing doesn't work without this fix (and amavisd-new marks incorrectly outbound emails as RelayedOpenRelay). Any chance to include this patch in LTS18 current updates? PS: I've patched amavisd-new by myself, because the latest 18 LTS (with all current updated) doesn't have this fix included. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1770532 Title: DKIM signing not working in bionic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/amavisd-new/+bug/1770532/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
