[Bug 1647024] Re: RC proposed multiple regressions on messages contact and phone app

2016-12-17 Thread Kugi Eusebio
Answering a call fixes everything just like comment #3. Probably this is
worth a look because it might happen to some people in the next OTA (if
there even is).

I got this as well on my bq E5 on rc-proposed r489.
I only switched from stable to rc-proposed without wiping my data.
I'll try to attached some logs.
I'll also try if receiving a call or a message will fix it.

[Bug 1641341] [NEW] Apps don't scale with the window while using external display and windowed mode

2016-11-12 Thread Kugi Eusebio
Public bug reported:

Description:
When in desktop mode and connected to an external display, apps do not scale
properly to its window on initial load. It will correct the scale once you
resize the window.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Connect to an external display.
2. Switch to Desktop mode if not yet in this mode.
3. Open an app. Not sure if all apps are affected but the two apps open in the
screenshot attached are affected.

Device:
Nexus 7 2013

I think this is a bug when the grid unit changes when using an external display.

[Bug 1637157] Re: App geometry cache gets corrupted

2016-11-11 Thread Kugi Eusebio
So last night I wasn't able to reproduce it again but today fresh from a
boot, I encountered it again with Ubuntu Silo Installer, WifiTransfer
and Talaan. Not sure what's common with them but other core apps doesn't
have this problem. The issue persist until you actually resize the app
then subsequent opening will have their last window size.

Deleting the said file solved the problem but not until I rebooted.
But it seems to me that the issue comes back eventually. Let's see.
I'll update here when I encounter it again.

2016-11-11 Thread Kugi Eusebio
I was able to reproduce this on a new install on my Nexus 7 (rc-proposed bq en)
Specifically, when opening Ubuntu Silo Installer the first time.
Subsequent opening does not reproduce the issue.
But it could also be that the very first app you open will always have this
issue.
However, I cannot confirm yet now.

[Bug 1609616] [NEW] Alarm/AlarmModel should be confined per app

2016-08-03 Thread Kugi Eusebio
Public bug reported:

Currently, when you use the AlarmModel and calendar apparmor policy,
your app can view, add, edit and delete alarms even those that were
created by other apps like for example the core clock app.

I think it would be better if the model only gives your app the permission to
view, edit and delete alarms created by your app. Then when the alarm is
triggered, the appropriate app will open and not alwayd the clock app.
This means that alarms in the AlarmModel can be distinguished by app and bot as
whole.

[Bug 1227824] Re: please add trust-store integration to e-d-s for calendar API

2016-08-03 Thread Kugi Eusebio
This bug is quite old and I think in need of urgency.
There are apps that would like to use the calendar API like Alarm and Reminders
but cannot because of this bug (me included :) ).
Also, the documentation in the developer site needs to indicate that developers
cannot freely use them as of the moment. The Alarm and AlarmModel have been
listed in the components and there's no mention that the calendar policy is
needed and that it is still in "reserved" status.

[Bug 1566172] [NEW] [SUGGESTION] Use the space bar for moving the text cursor

2016-04-05 Thread Kugi Eusebio
Public bug reported:

I have an idea which maybe considered to be implemented.
What if we use the space bar for moving the text cursor horizontally or even
vertically.
Currently, moving the cursor is quite hard and inaccurate.
Space bar is quite big and makes it a good place to swipe to move the cursor.
With this approach, we're not using more space and instead use a big part of
the keyboard that is only there mostly for inserting spaces. The sensitivity is
critical though because you don't want unintended movement of the cursor but I
think it's very much doable.

[Bug 1523069] Re: Desktop-mode App switcher selector's visual design is hard to see

2016-03-28 Thread Kugi Eusebio
There are improvements that already landed but I'm not sure if those are
already what you mentioned here since this is still in-progress, From
what's implemented right now, I'd say it was an improvement but only
while using Alt + Tab and hovering with the mouse however when you look
at the app switcher in static, it is still hard to see which app got the
focus/highlight. I saw in one of the promotional videos of the tablet
wherein the surroundings are dimmed while the highlighted/focused app is
not. I think that looks better. Would that be the plan as a permanent
solution?

[Bug 1536018] [NEW] Search field sometimes does not get focus automatically

2016-01-19 Thread Kugi Eusebio
Public bug reported:

Expected Results:
When clicking the search button in any scopes, the search field should
automatically gets the focus and thus show the OSK in touchscreen devices.

Current Results:
The search field gets the focus but once you search something and try to search
again, the search field does not get the focus.

I'm not sure though the exact way to reproduce the bug but it does
happen at random times. What described above is what seems to cause
though.

Device Used:
bq Aquarius E5 HD
OTA8.5

[Bug 1533317] Re: Address bar does not get focus when adding a new tab

2016-01-13 Thread Kugi Eusebio
I have a Nexus 7 with keyboard and mouse connected.
Anyway, I guess I now understand what you meant.
The behavior isn't as desired right now when on windowed mode because "desktop"
mode detection is still in hot discussion.
I thought you said it's working correctly now. I'm just curious why tag this as
invalid if this can be fixed in the future once mode detection has been
implemented.

[Bug 1533317] [NEW] Address bar does not get focus when adding a new tab

2016-01-12 Thread Kugi Eusebio
Public bug reported:

Expected Result:
When adding a new tab via the button or Ctrl + T, the address bar is
automatically focused so that users can immediately type the URL.

Current Result:
When opening a new tab, the new tab page is shown with bookmarks and top sites
but the user can't type immediately the URL they want to go to.

This might be more appropriate in windowed mode since most likely a physical
keyboard exists thus making it easier for the users to input the URL when
adding a new tab. In staged mode, focusing the address bar will show the OSK
which might not be desirable if the user wants to select from the bookmarks or
top sites instead of inputting its own URL.

I've experienced this before and was fixed I think when bluez5 landed.
However I experience it again sometimes in the recent rc-proposed images.
A couple of reboots fix the issue though.

The behavior isn't correct based on my experience.
The address bar doesn't get focus when adding a new tab on my Nexus 7
rc-propose image #335.
Is it something fixed on Xenial builds? or probably only works in actual
desktop installs?

in the Unity8's desktop-mode app switcher is hard to see making it
difficult to determine which app you are currently selecting when doing

shows the mobile version eventhough the UI is in desktop mode. The more

[Bug 1516696] [NEW] SMS notifications are received only when the phone is unlocked

WHAT HAPPENED:
The phone stays quiet while locked but once the power button is pressed

minutes ago.
This happened multiple times already but I think I ignored them and this seems

The phone should have the vibration, notification bubble/indicator and sound
alert even if the phone is locked.

[Bug 1467461] [NEW] Camera app controls should be placed correctly

2015-06-22 Thread Kugi Eusebio
Public bug reported:

Now that full shell rotation has landed in development channels, the camera app
doesn't give a good experience for the user.
In landscape, the controls move with the screen's rotation and thus put them at
the bottom just like how it is in portrait.

I think the controls should be at the side when in landscape mode just
like before. Another problem is that when rotation is locked, the user
cannot use the camera in portrait and thus cannot take pictures in
portrait. In summary, the camera app should still behave like before the
shell rotation landed

All my scopes are back! Kinda weird that a single scope broke the whole scope
functionality. Is this a valid bug now or should be passed to the developer of
SBB scope?Well I think this is still valid because this is not suppose to
happen just because of faulty scope. Thanks for the solution BTW :D

Kugi, could you please call ls ~/.local/share/unity-scopes via adb
shell. Do you see a dangling symlink in that list (an item in red)? I
had one for com.ubuntu.developer.psasse.sbbscope_sbbscope_0.8.

Looks like the registry totally freaks out and ignores all installed
scopes if there is even one dangling symlink in the scope install
directory.

This is at least what I can reproduce. Could you please confirm that
this is the case for you too.

Next, if you run sudo click unregister
com.ubuntu.developer.psasse.sbbscope (considering you have the same
dangling symlink I had), then restart the phone, do you get all your
scopes back?
